By now, most of us have filed our taxes, and are happy for THAT to be over with. But what if you could be more empowered and understand taxes and put things in place NOW so next year isn’t such a surprise?

Do you feel like you overpaid the IRS this year? On the other hand, did you receive a large refund?

Taxes are a mystery for most, and while the IRS publishes Federal income tax rates and brackets, it isn’t as simple as a specific income and corresponding tax rate. In addition to the standard filing deduction based on your filing status (single, married filing jointly, married filing separately or head of household) there are other tax credits and deductions that can be missed, so it is best to crack the tax code NOW rather than waiting another 9 months to do it all over again and wish the outcome were different!
