The Tonganoxie office has been closed but clients are being serviced from the Lenexa office. Like most business, we have moved to a more automated operation. Our phone number has not changed: 913-724-2686. It is answered by machine requesting you say your name. The call then transfers to my extension.

Tax Time Already. The Tongie office is officially closed but the Lenexa/Overland Park office is on track as usual. We gave up on retirement and decided to downsize. I like my job.

We get many calls inquiring about available credits and whether they qualify. Let us put your mind at rest. We test every available credit and take no chance. Data is entered on each related form.

PLEASE NOTE: Although there may not be enough expenses to qualify for the Schedule A (itemized deductions) THERE ARE TWO COMMON AREAS that are available "outside the parameters".
1) There is a federal credit for up to $300 for cash or equivalent charitible donations.
2) On the State side, property tax receipts for taxes on primary residence may entitle the taxpayer a credit on either the Kansas Homestead Act or General property tax credit.

There are a couple of new documents that we need to see this year:

Letter # 6475 will tell you the stimulus amount you received in 2021 that is reported on your 2021 return. There was a third payout for 2020 that was received by many in 2021. Do not be confused--

Letter # 6419 Advanced Child Tax Credit is the reconciliation of what you were entitled to and what you actually received. It works like the 1095A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement for those who buy through the Marketplace.

These are required to be mailed in the same time frame as your tax documents like W-2, 1099s, and 1095A. They may not look like an official "form" but like 2020 stimulus, more like a letter.
