According to Federal News Network, IRS staff from Human Resources and the IT Department will serve as customer service representatives - who will handle taxpayer inquiries, and serve as tax examiners to review accuracy of returns. 😒

Training for these employees will begin Feb 23rd. - Yeah, the season started already. 🤦🏾‍♀️

What does this mean? In the world according to LuSundra, this means unnecessary delays and letters.
These folks are being trained 1. After the season starts 2. from departments that have ZERO to do with tax. How can a non-tax examiner accurately examine a return?

I expect there to be procedural errors, unwarranted escalation, and collection errors. If you don't know IRS procedures, you can easily be bullied into something that is completely inaccurate.

Believe me, I had it happen yesterday from an experienced Revenue Officer.

This will ultimately impact taxpayers. They will be frustrated and unable to contact the IRS. They will call us and there is a cost to pay for us to handle the issue. Mmmhmmm... a mess
