Most business failures do not happen overnight. They happen slowly, over years, through a combination of the same seven things. The owner becomes the business. Systems never get built. One big client holds too much power. Revenue grows but profit disappears. Nothing is recurring. The team cannot function without constant direction. And nobody ever stops to find out what the business is actually worth until it is time to sell.
By then it is usually too late to fix any of it. I put this together because every one of these is preventable. Not easy, but preventable. The owners who catch this early are the ones who exit on their terms. Which one of these is your business closest to right now?
