Heads up, Georgia taxpayers! The state's $1.2 billion tax rebate program has started issuing payments to eligible residents statewide.

If your bank account shows a direct deposit labeled “GASTTAXRFD,” don't be confused. That stands for Georgia State Tax Refund, NOT a gas tax refund.

Here's what you need to know:
- Rebate Amounts: You could receive a maximum of $250 for single filers/Married Filing Separately, $375 for Head of Household, and $500 for Married Filing Jointly.
- Payment Method: Payments will arrive via direct deposit or check, matching the delivery method from your most recent return.
- Timing: The state says it could take six to eight weeks for all refunds to go out.

You can check your rebate status online using your Social Security number and adjusted gross income.

⏳ Tax Tip Reminder: 2025 IRA Contribution Deadline Is Approaching

You still have time to contribute to your Traditional or Roth IRA for the 2025 tax year. The deadline to make a 2025 contribution is April 15, 2026 - which means there's still time to take advantage of a potential tax benefit.

✔ Traditional IRA contributions may be tax-deductible, which could lower your taxable income for 2025.
✔ Contributions made between January 1 and April 15 can be applied to either the 2025 or 2026 tax year.
✔ Be sure to specify that your contribution is for 2025 when making the deposit.
✔ Eligible individuals age 50+ may also make catch-up contributions.

If you have questions about IRA contributions or need help filing your 2025 tax return, feel free to call the office. We're here to help.
