HR leaders from across South Florida recently gathered at StevenDouglas headquarters, in partnership with South Florida Business & Wealth magazine, for a roundtable discussion on AI and the future of Human Resources.
Led by Amanda Rassi, Vice President of HR Search at StevenDouglas, the conversation brought together nearly two dozen senior HR professionals across finance, hospitality, services, real estate development, manufacturing, and more. Also joining the conversation were VP of Client Engagement, Alan Berger, and VP of Human Resources, Mia Rottman, MSHRM, SPHR, SHRM-SCP.
The discussion focused on how organizations are approaching AI adoption, from early exploration to formal implementation, and the important role HR plays in governance, education, responsible usage, and keeping people at the center.
1. A few key themes emerged:
2. AI adoption is happening, but maturity levels vary widely.
3. Employees are often experimenting before formal governance is in place.
4. HR has an important role in policy, training, and responsible implementation.
5. AI can improve efficiency and workflows, but human judgment remains essential.
The energy in the room was palpable as leaders’ exchanged ideas, challenged assumptions, shared practical advice, and continued the conversation long after the session ended.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a thoughtful and engaging discussion.
