A client called while I was on vacation and said: "Wow... I didn't expect YOU to answer."

That made me laugh.

The truth is, one of the things I love most about having a small firm is that people know who's on the other end.

When you call, you're not getting transferred three times. You're not opening a ticket. You're not explaining your story to a different person every month.

You're talking to someone who already knows your business, your family, your goals, and sometimes even your dog's name.

As we've grown, I've worked hard not to lose that.

Because that's the whole reason I started this business in the first place.

Not to build the biggest accounting firm.

Not to become a call center.

But to build real relationships with real people. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. ❤️

One of the things that surprises me most is how often people start a conversation with:

"This is probably a stupid question..."

I can almost guarantee you what's coming next is not a stupid question. Taxes, bookkeeping, payroll, IRS letters, starting a business—most people weren't taught this stuff in school.

My job isn't to judge what you don't know.

My job is to help you understand it.

Honestly, I'd rather answer ten "simple" questions today than help fix one expensive mistake next year.

So if you've ever been embarrassed to ask your accountant something, you're not alone. Most of us have been there in one area of life or another.

And for the record, some of the smartest business owners I know ask the most questions. 😊

Your tax situation sticks with me. Every story. Every weird scenario. Every “I didn’t know I was supposed to do that” moment.

So yes… there’s a very real chance I’m thinking about your bookkeeping while making dinner, wondering about your payroll issue while walking downtown Stuart, or suddenly realizing the solution to your tax problem halfway through a BritBox show.

That’s probably the difference between a boutique accounting firm and a giant corporate office.

To me, you’re not just another file in a cabinet or a number in a system. I know the people behind these businesses. I know how hard self-employed people work around here. And honestly? I take that responsibility personally.

Sometimes I wish my brain would clock out a little more often… but I also think caring this much is why my clients stay with me for years. ❤️
