💰When you owe the IRS more than $50,000, the collection process usually starts with a series of notices demanding payment.

📬 Ignore those letters, and the IRS will escalate — that can include seizing assets, garnishing wages, levying bank accounts, and even certifying your debt to the State Department (which can lead to passport denial or revocation).

🕵️‍♂️For debts exceeding $50,000, the IRS can intensify its collection efforts through more thorough scrutiny and actions.

🥺The IRS may require a detailed financial disclosure to investigate your income, assets, and expenses before considering any payment plan.

If you don’t resolve it, the agency can file a Tax Lien and a Tax Levy.

The IRS has just announced reliefs due to Milton.

Need help give us a call, SFS 772-337-1040

Affected taxpayers in all of Florida now have until May 1, 2025, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments, including 2024 individual and business returns normally due during March and April 2025 and 2023 individual and corporate returns with valid extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments.

This means, for example, that the May 1, 2025, deadline now applies to:

Any individual or business that has a 2024 return normally due during March or April 2025. Any individual, C corporation or tax-exempt organization that has a valid extension to file their calendar-year 2023 federal return. The IRS noted, however, that payments on these returns are not eligible for the extra time because they were due last spring before the hurricane occurred. 2024 quarterly estimated tax payments normally due on Jan. 15, 2025, and 2025 estimated tax payments normally due on April 15, 2025. Quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on Oct. 31, 2024, Jan. 31, 2025, and April 30, 2025.

In addition, for localities affected by Hurricane Milton, penalties for failing to make payroll and excise tax deposits due on or after Oct. 5, 2024, and before Oct. 21, 2024, will be abated, as long as the deposits are made by Oct. 21, 2024.

Hey everyone!

I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with all my dear friends, family, clients, colleagues, and other associates!

After many fulfilling years at SFS Tax & Accounting Services, I'm stepping into a new phase of my journey with SFS Tax & Accounting Services. Here's what's happening:

Semi-Retirement: Effective May 1st, I'm officially taking a step back from full-time work and transitioning into semi-retirement. Our daughter, Marissa Meldon, will be taking over the day-to-day operations as COO.

My New Role: While I'll be taking it a bit easier, I'll still be around 1-2 days a week, generally on Mondays and Wednesdays. But fear not, I'll still be representing taxpayers dealing with IRS or state agency issues...The Tax Relief Company www.thetaxreliefco.com.

Supporting the Team: In my new role as consultant, I'll be helping Marissa, Autumn Denning, EA, and Misty, our outstanding new receptionist, with some tax and accounting tasks. I'll still be preparing and reviewing returns, but not full-time. This change allows me to focus on providing you with the best service in a more flexible capacity.

Stay Connected: I'll be keeping an eye on my email, especially on my in-office days. However, I may not be as responsive on other days.

The Tax Relief Company Stuart is ready to handle everything for you. Leave your tax worries behind. Return to the things that matter most.
