This Disability Pride Month, we want to recognize one of our clients, Opportunities for Inclusion in Waltham.

Since 1956, Opportunities for Inclusion (formerly GWArc) has served individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities, along with frail elders and their families. Their programs span day habilitation, employment and community-based day services, residential services, shared living, adult family care, and recreation, all built around a person-centered approach that stays sensitive to the level of support each individual needs to thrive.

Disability Pride Month is about recognizing disability as a natural part of human diversity and rejecting the idea that people have to fit a mold to belong. That reflects what Opportunities for Inclusion has worked toward for nearly 70 years: independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy for the people they serve.

As a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit and an affiliated chapter of The Arc and The Arc of Massachusetts, Opportunities for Inclusion continues that work today. We are proud to support their mission behind the scenes. To learn more or get involved, visit oppsforinclusion.org.

The people who keep nonprofits running are heading into one of the busiest stretches of the year: closing out the books for a June 30 fiscal year-end. To make it a little easier, we put together a free Year-End Close Checklist — a clear, step-by-step path through the close, from reconciliations to Form 990 readiness. Share it with your finance team or board treasurer. Read or print, no sign-up:

Happy Father's Day to the dads on our team and to fathers everywhere!

We help nonprofits keep their books balanced — but our dads know the most important balance is the one between work and home. Thank you for all you do. Enjoy your day!

On Tuesday evening, Stefanie and Amanda had the pleasure of attending the 201st Annual Meeting of the Worcester Natural History Society/EcoTarium — that's not a typo. Our client the EcoTarium traces its roots back more than two centuries, making it one of the oldest natural history organizations in the country.

The evening featured a showcase of the upcoming exhibit The Secret World of Elephants — the EcoTarium is one of the few museums in the country capable of hosting an exhibit of this scale. The night also included the annual meeting and the presentation of the Edward Howe Forbush Naturalist Award.

Today, the EcoTarium is a museum of science and nature in Worcester, inspiring curiosity in the next generation through hands-on exhibits, live animal encounters, and the only public planetarium in central Massachusetts.

It's a privilege to support an institution with this kind of staying power. Two hundred and one annual meetings is a testament to what sustained community support — and sound stewardship — can build.

June is Pride Month, and we're shining a light on a few of the clients we're proud to work with.

At NPCM, we work exclusively with nonprofits — and several of our clients spend the year advancing dignity, safety, and belonging for LGBTQ+ communities across New England.

🏳️‍🌈 OUT MetroWest (Framingham, MA) fosters communities where LGBTQ+ youth thrive, offering free programs for young people from pre-K through age 29.

🏳️‍🌈 Love Your Labels (Worcester, MA) is an LGBTQ+-led nonprofit that uses fashion, art, and creativity as tools for self-expression and self-discovery — grounded in the belief that authentic self-expression can be life-saving.

🏳️‍🌈 GLAD Law (Boston, MA) is a leading LGBTQ+ legal services and civil rights organization working toward justice and equality for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV.

🏳️‍🌈 The Theater Offensive (Boston, MA) celebrates q***r and trans people of color, presenting liberating art that transcends boundaries, celebrates cultural abundance, and dismantles oppression.

We deliver clean books, audit-ready records, and compliance that holds up — handled by people who know nonprofits — so organizations like these can focus on their mission. We're grateful to be in their corner, this month and every month.

🌟 Grateful for our incredible team!

This year, many of our staff chose to donate their holiday gift, and with our company match, we were able to contribute over $8,000 to nonprofit organizations. In addition, we provided more than $15,000 in sponsorships to nonprofits we work with throughout the year. As a company that supports nonprofits through our bookkeeping work every day, we’re grateful to be able to give back—and to see our team take part in that commitment as well.
