McClarren Financial Advisors, Inc. is excited to announce that Josh Purdy has earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner™.
This distinguished designation is earned after completing four certification requirements: education, examination, experience and ethics. The education step includes having a bachelor’s degree from a university and then completing six areas of study (financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning) followed by passing an exam after each course.
The next step, examination, includes a comprehensive exam where the CFP® candidate must sit for a six-hour test that integrates all the above six areas of study.
The fourth step of experience requires the candidate to have 4,000 hours of financial planning practice through an apprenticeship.
Finally, the candidate must agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to update the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.
According to the CFP’s website, only 5.2% of all candidates who earn the CFP® designation are under the age of 30. Josh has worked hard to achieve this goal and it is with great pride that we acknowledge him in this significant achievement!
Join us in congratulating Josh Purdy, Certified Financial Planner™!
