📢 Big Tax Update: What the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) Means for You

On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) became law, delivering sweeping tax reforms for individuals, businesses, and families. Here’s what you need to know:

• Lower tax rates & bigger standard deduction → now permanent
• Extra deduction of $6,000 per person age 65 and older with income phaseouts (2025-2028)

Labor Day is one of those holidays that sneaks up on us. For some, it’s the last backyard barbecue of the summer. For others, it’s the kids heading back to school. For many, it’s just the gift of an extra day to breathe.

But the story behind Labor Day is one worth slowing down to remember. In the late 1800s, workers across the United States were facing dangerous factories, endless hours, and little protection. Men, women, and even children were expected to give everything to their jobs with almost nothing in return. Out of that hardship grew the labor movement… And from many marches and strikes came ideas we now take for granted:

It's National Dog Day! 🐶 It feels a little funny to celebrate because really, every day at FEFA HQ feels like "Dog Day." We're a dog-friendly office and if you’ve ever stopped by, you know our pups are part of the team. They wander into meetings, nap under desks, and somehow always manage to steal the spotlight during Zoom calls.

But the true meaning of today gives us all pause. Our pups are spoiled--they get loved on, played with, and given too many treats (looking at you, Marie!) Not every dog has that kind of life. "Millions of dogs are killed each year because they're simply unwanted", says Colleen Paige, founder of National Dog Day. "They're unwanted because no one realized how to properly care for the demands of the breed, unwanted because they shed too much, unwanted because they bark too much. UNWANTED simply because someone changed their mind."

All a dog wants to do is love you and be loved by you. Dogs are courageous, loyal, and deeply sentient beings that deserve compassion and respect. That is why Stray Rescue of St. Louis is one of the causes closest to our hearts. If you've been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, today is the perfect day to visit your local shelter and adopt a dog (or cat!) who was once considered "unwanted."

12 days of end of the year retirement tips consolidated down to one, 60 second post:

1. Maximize your retirement contributions in your employer-sponsored plan
2. Set your contributions for next year based on the new limits
3. Spend your remaining FSA balance
4. Make sure you have accurate beneficiaries on all accounts
5. Make sure you have the following docs (and they are organized): last will and testament, healthcare directive, medical power of attorney, durable power of attorney
6. Review your last will and testament
7. Take RMDs (if applicable)
8. Analyze Roth conversion
9. Ensure your portfolio is in line with your risk tolerance
10. Rebalance your investment allocation
11. Consider 529 plan contributions
12. Make any charitable donations

Biggest Social Security Changes for 2025! this important update with friends and family who receive Social Security benefits! 📢

Here's what you need to know:

💰 Benefits are getting a 2.5% cost-of-living increase. That means the average retiree will see about $50 more per month according to the SSA. It’s the lowest COLA we’ve had in four years, reflecting a return to pre-pandemic inflation trends.

📋 Important updates:
- Medicare Part B premiums rising to $185 (up $10.30 from 2024)
- Social Security tax cap increasing to $176,100
- Starting January 6, appointments will be *required* for all Social Security field offices
