Be aware- there are always fake calculators and behind them is a sales pitch.

The alerts taxpayers to fake tax deduction calculators and online software exploiting the new tax laws under the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. Scammers may try to trick ineligible taxpayers into falsely claiming these new or expanded tax credits and deductions. The IRS urges you to protect your financial information and only use official, trusted sources for tax calculations and information.

📣 Friendly Reminder for Business Owners

If you have an S-Corp or Partnership (Form 1065), your tax return is due March 15… not April 15.

Yes, the IRS decided business owners needed an earlier deadline just to keep things exciting. 😄

Even if your business had little or no activity, the return still needs to be filed so owners can receive their K-1s.

And the IRS penalty for missing it?
💸 $235 per owner, per month.

So if you haven’t filed yet… now is a great time to check that off the list.

The Real Cost of an S-Corp

Electing S-Corp status isn’t just about tax savings.

It also means:

• Payroll compliance
• Corporate tax filings
• Clean bookkeeping
• Reasonable salary requirements

Too often, business owners are told about the tax savings but not the compliance responsibilities.

A well-structured S-Corp can be a great tool.

But it should always be a strategic decision — not a trend.

S-Corp Owners — this mistake is incredibly common.

Many S-Corp owners are doing one of these two things wrong:

1️⃣ Taking only owner draws and no payroll
2️⃣ Paying themselves 100% payroll and no distributions

Both can create tax problems or unnecessary taxes.

An S-Corp is supposed to have a reasonable salary + distributions.

If this isn’t set up correctly, it can cost business owners thousands per year.

If you run an S-Corp and aren’t sure your structure is right, feel free to send me a message.

The Messy Books Problem

S-Corp Owners — Your P&L Should Tell a Story

I see this all the time:

A CPA prepares the tax return…
But the QuickBooks file is still a mess.

What happens?

• Adjustments made on the tax return
• Books never updated
• Next year starts with bad numbers

Your bookkeeping, financial reports, and taxes should all match.

If they don’t, you’re making decisions on the wrong information.

That’s something I help business owners fix.
