Those of you that know me, know that I NEVER publicly announce who I am supporting in any elections. This time is different. I beg of all of you who are reading this to come down to the South Farmingdale Fire Department Headquarters on December 10 from 4-9 to cast your vote for Michael Mackie and Patrick Fullshire to be your next Fire District Commissioners.

Fire commissioners are elected public officials who determine/decide how the local fire service can best conduct its business of protecting life and property. This is something they have failed to do over and over again.

The current board, with the current Chairman of the Board leading the crusade, has been on a campaign of harassment and bullying. They have wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars through mismanagement and theft. Proof of this can be found in the FOILS that were provided by the Fire District.

There will be two seats/positions available on these ballots. And there will be two gentlemen on your ballots who possess the aforementioned traits; Mike Mackie and Patrick Fullshire are the right picks for this important job.

Mike is running against the incumbent, Fred Heffel, for a FIVE-YEAR term while Pat Fullshire is running UNOPPOSED to finish the remainder of a FOUR-YEAR term that he took over after a previous commissioner abruptly resigned.

Mike Mackie started as a Junior firefighter and has risen up through the ranks to be Chief of the Department. Together with his wife, they are raising their daughter in this community. Mike has also served as a Chief in the South Farmingdale Fire Department for the last TEN years. He has received numerous accolades and citations for leadership, bravery, and firefighting operations.

Pat Fullshire, similar to Mike, has risen through the ranks within the department where he has served as a mentor to the next generation of firefighters. Those same firefighters are now standing behind Mike and Pat during this election cycle.

This service is something my family, friends and I care deeply about. This organization desperately needs attention/fixing from experienced men with selfless intentions and noble character.

If you are registered to vote in our Federal/State elections and live in the South Farmingdale District you are permitted to vote in these local elections (your home address must be in the district).

Elections will take place on Tuesday, December 10th, from 4-9 p.m., at the South Farmingdale Fire Department (819 Main Street).

Today is April 1 already. For those of you that have procrastinated now is they time to get your tax documents to your preparer.
At this point, I can not guarantee that anything received after tomorrow will be filed by April 18 - this years filing deadline.
I will be happy to prepare extensions for you.

Thinking about putting solar on your house? Now is a great time. NYS offers a $5000 tax credit and the IRS offers a 30% tax credit. Unused credits can be carried forward until they are used up.

Putting solar panels on my house was awesome! My electric bill averages $13 per month, even with central air running all summer.

Recent Release from NYS Tax Department

Did you receive the Empire State child credit or
earned income credit? Additional payments may be heading your way!


To assist you with providing a high level of service to clients, we want to make you aware of Additional New York State Child and Earned Income Tax Payments that will be sent to certain taxpayers.

This month, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will begin mailing checks to approximately 1.8 million New Yorkers who received the 2021 Empire State Child Credit, the Earned Income Credit (or Noncustodial Parent Earned Income Credit), or both.

If your clients qualify for one or both payments, they don’t need to do anything. The Department of Taxation and Finance will automatically calculate the total payment and mail them a check.

Below is the email the department is sending to taxpayers about these checks. Please share this information with those who work with your clients, so that they can provide information and respond to questions that may arise.
