Types of Business Taxes
β INCOME TAXES - All businesses except partnerships must file an annual income tax return. You must pay the tax as you earn or receive income during the year. if you are not required to make estimated tax payments, you may pay any tax due when you file your return.
β ESTIMATED TAXES - The quarterly payment of taxes for the year is based on the filter's reported income for the period. Individuals, including sole proprietors, partners, and S-corporation shareholders, generally have to make estimated tax payments if they expect to owe tax of $1,000 or more when their return is filed.
β SELF EMPLOYMENT TAXES - The self-employment tax is designed to be collected from workers who are considered self-employed and don't otherwise pay withholding taxes. This includes sole proprietors, freelancers, and independent contractors who carry on a trade or business.
β SALES TAXES - A sales tax is a consumption tax imposed by the government on the sale of goods and services. A conventional sales tax is levied at the point of sale, collected by the retailer, and passed on the government.
