💗🧠 THANKFUL THURSDAY | GRATITUDE IS GOOD FOR THE BRAIN! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

It’s Thankful Thursday! 💕 And today, I’m thankful for something we sometimes take for granted until we really need it — ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE!

Recently, I had an MRI done, and while I was sitting there in my hospital gown, I found myself thinking about how fortunate I am to have health insurance that allows me to get the medical care and testing I need.

As a nurse practitioner, I spend my days encouraging others to prioritize their health. But sometimes, I have to remind myself to do the very same thing!

And here’s something I want you to remember:

TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF IS NOT A LUXURY. IT’S A NECESSITY! 💗

Not everyone has the same access to healthcare, and I don’t take that privilege lightly.

🧠 HERE’S YOUR BRAIN-HEALTH REMINDER: Practicing gratitude can support emotional well-being and help us cope with stress. But gratitude doesn’t mean ignoring life’s challenges. It means recognizing the good while navigating the difficult.

💗 THREE THINGS I’M REMINDING MYSELF TODAY:

✨ APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE. Today, I’m especially thankful for health insurance and access to medical care.

✨ DON’T NEGLECT YOURSELF. Keep your appointments, follow up on recommended testing, and listen when your body tells you something isn’t right.

✨ FIND GRATITUDE IN THE JOURNEY. Even when life gets complicated, there can still be something worth appreciating.

💕 THURSDAY CHALLENGE: Name THREE things you’re thankful for today. They don’t have to be big. Sometimes the smallest blessings mean the most!

And remember, you can be thankful and still be going through something. Both can be true!

You matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters. 💗

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain!

🐾💗🧠 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY | PINKY APPROVED! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

It’s Wellness Wednesday, and Dr. Pinky is back with another reminder to take care of yourself! 🐾😂💕

Now, if there’s one thing Pinky knows how to do, it’s enjoy life, take her naps, and protect her peace! And honestly, I think we could all learn a little something from her!

Between work, family, school, and everything else on our plates, sometimes we get so busy taking care of everybody else that we forget about ourselves.

But here’s your reminder: YOU MATTER TOO! 💗

🧠 HERE’S YOUR BRAIN-HEALTH REMINDER: Taking care of your brain involves more than just getting enough sleep. Physical activity, good nutrition, hydration, stress management, and meaningful downtime all play important roles in supporting brain health.

🐾 THREE PINKY-APPROVED WAYS TO SHOW YOURSELF SOME LOVE:

💗 MOVE YOUR BODY! Take a walk, stretch, or get outside for some fresh air. Even a little movement counts!

💗 FUEL YOUR BRAIN! Eat balanced meals, drink your water, and don’t forget to nourish yourself throughout the day.

💗 PROTECT YOUR PEACE! Rest when you need to, set boundaries, and make time for the things that bring you joy.

✨ WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE: Do ONE thing today that supports your overall well-being. Mind, body, and spirit!

And remember, SELF-CARE ISN’T SELFISH. IT’S NECESSARY!

Dr. Pinky says that’s officially PINKY APPROVED! 🐾😂💗

You matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters.

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain!

We often celebrate accomplishments without seeing the pressure behind them.

As a nurse practitioner, doctoral student, educator, leader, wife, and mother, I wear many hats. And while I am grateful for every opportunity, balancing it all isn't always easy.

I wanted to share a more personal side of my journey. The long days, the expectations, the sacrifices, and the lessons I'm still learning about giving myself grace.

My latest article, Balancing It All: The Pressure Behind the Accomplishments, is a reminder that being capable doesn't mean we have unlimited capacity.

I hope it resonates with someone who is trying to balance ambition, purpose, family, and personal well-being.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. 💕

When people look at my life, they often see the accomplishments. They see the degrees, certifications, professional recognition, leadership opportunities, and the many roles I have taken on throughout my career.

💗🧠 TERRIFIC TUESDAY | SMALL STEPS, BIG RESULTS! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

It’s Terrific Tuesday! 💕 And today’s reminder is simple:

You don’t have to change your entire life overnight to make a difference in your health!

Sometimes we get so focused on making BIG changes that we forget how powerful the little things can be.

As a neuroscience nurse practitioner, I remind my patients that taking care of your brain isn’t just about treating problems when they happen. It’s about the healthy choices we make every single day!

🧠 HERE’S YOUR BRAIN-HEALTH REMINDER: Small, consistent lifestyle changes can support memory, concentration, mood, and overall brain health.

💗 THREE WAYS TO GIVE YOUR BRAIN SOME LOVE TODAY:

✨ GET MOVING! Even a short walk can improve your mood, support circulation, and help you feel more energized.

✨ FUEL YOUR BRAIN! Stay hydrated, eat balanced meals, and give your body the nutrients it needs.

✨ PROTECT YOUR PEACE! Take a break, set boundaries, and remember that managing stress is part of taking care of your brain.

💕 TUESDAY CHALLENGE: Choose ONE healthy habit to focus on today. Maybe it’s drinking more water, taking a walk, or getting to bed a little earlier tonight.

Whatever you choose, remember that CONSISTENCY MATTERS MORE THAN PERFECTION!

You matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters. 💗

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain!

💗🧠 MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY | A NEW WEEK, A NEW OPPORTUNITY! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

Happy Monday! 💕 It’s a brand-new week, and I’m reminding myself of something I want you to remember too:

You don’t have to have everything figured out to keep moving forward!

Between work, school, family, and everything else life throws our way, it’s easy to feel like we’re constantly trying to catch up.

But here’s the thing: PROGRESS IS PROGRESS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL! 💗

🧠 HERE’S YOUR BRAIN-HEALTH REMINDER: Your brain benefits from consistency, healthy habits, and giving yourself opportunities to learn and grow.

✨ THREE WAYS TO START YOUR WEEK STRONG:

💗 MOVE YOUR BODY. Physical activity supports blood flow to the brain, improves mood, and helps manage stress.

💗 SET REALISTIC GOALS. Break big tasks into smaller steps. Every accomplishment counts!

💗 GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up for yourself.

💕 MONDAY CHALLENGE: Choose ONE thing you’ve been putting off and take a small step toward accomplishing it today.

And remember, you can be proud of how far you’ve come while still working toward where you want to be!

You matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters. 💗

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain!

💗🧠 FEEL GOOD FRIDAY | PROTECT YOUR PEACE, PROTECT YOUR BRAIN! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

We made it to FRIDAY! 🎉💕

And after a long week of taking care of everybody and everything else, I have one question for you:

When was the last time you did something that made YOU feel good?

Not because it was on your to-do list. Not because somebody needed something from you. But simply because it brought you JOY!

As a nurse practitioner, I spend a lot of time reminding people that brain health is about more than medications, appointments, and diagnoses. It’s also about how we live our everyday lives.

🧠 HERE’S YOUR BRAIN-HEALTH REMINDER: Chronic stress can affect sleep, concentration, memory, and emotional well-being. Making time for enjoyable activities, meaningful connections, and relaxation can help support a healthier brain.

💗 THREE WAYS TO FEEL GOOD TODAY:

✨ DO SOMETHING YOU ENJOY. Listen to your favorite music, laugh with someone, or make time for a hobby.

✨ PROTECT YOUR PEACE. Set boundaries, step away from unnecessary stress, and remember that NO is a complete sentence!

✨ CELEBRATE YOURSELF. You made it through another week. Give yourself credit for everything you’ve accomplished, even the little things!

💕 FRIDAY CHALLENGE: Do ONE thing today that brings you genuine happiness. No guilt. No explanation. Just JOY!

And remember, taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s necessary!

You matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters. 💗

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain.

💗🧠 THANKFUL THURSDAY | GRATITUDE IS GOOD FOR THE BRAIN! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

It’s Thankful Thursday, and today I’m taking a moment to appreciate one of my greatest blessings — my family! 💕

Life gets BUSY! Between work, school, basketball games, and everything else on the calendar, it’s easy to get caught up in what needs to be done instead of appreciating what’s right in front of us.

But sometimes, the greatest blessings aren’t things. They’re the people we get to share our lives with. ❤️

🧠 Here’s your brain-health reminder: Gratitude isn’t just about being positive. Practicing gratitude can support emotional well-being, help us manage stress, and encourage us to focus on the good things in our lives.

💗 THREE WAYS TO PRACTICE GRATITUDE TODAY:

✨ APPRECIATE YOUR PEOPLE. Tell someone how much they mean to you.

✨ CELEBRATE THE LITTLE THINGS. Sometimes the ordinary moments become our favorite memories.

✨ BE PRESENT. Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to enjoy your life!

💕 THURSDAY CHALLENGE: Name three things you’re thankful for today. Better yet, tell someone why you’re thankful for THEM!

Today, I’m thankful for love, family, memories, and the opportunity to make more of them. 💗

Remember, you matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters.

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain. 💕

✨ HONORED. HUMBLED. GRATEFUL. AND STILL JUST GETTING STARTED! ✨

Some moments make you stop and reflect on just how far your journey has taken you. This is one of those moments! ❤️

I am incredibly honored to announce that I have been selected as a 2026 Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing (ADLN)! 🎉

This prestigious recognition celebrates nurse leaders committed to advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in nursing and healthcare. To be recognized alongside such extraordinary leaders is truly humbling.

For me, nursing has never been just a career. It is my calling, my purpose, and a lifelong commitment to making a difference.

From the bedside to advanced practice, education, community advocacy, and leadership, my mission has remained the same: to serve, to advocate, to educate, and to open doors for others.

I believe every patient deserves to be heard, every community deserves equitable healthcare, and every aspiring nurse deserves an opportunity to succeed.

Recognition is not the finish line. It is a reminder of the responsibility to keep going.

I will continue my lifelong mission of advancing our profession, championing health equity, mentoring future nurses, and creating meaningful change in the communities we serve.

To my family, mentors, colleagues, and everyone who has supported my journey, THANK YOU! ❤️

The titles may change. The credentials may grow. The opportunities may expand. But the mission? The mission will ALWAYS remain the same.

And there’s still so much work to do! 💪🏽

🐾💗 WE REST ON WEDNESDAYS — PINKY APPROVED! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

It’s Wednesday, and apparently Dr. Pinky has decided we’ve all been doing entirely TOO MUCH this week! 😂🐾

And you know what? She might be right!

Between work, family, school, and everything else life throws our way, sometimes we forget that our brains need a break too.

🧠 Here’s your brain-health reminder: REST IS NOT LAZINESS!

Your brain needs downtime to recharge. Quality sleep supports memory, concentration, emotional regulation, and overall brain health.

And sometimes, taking care of yourself means giving yourself permission to do absolutely NOTHING!

🐾 Pinky’s Prescription for Today:

💗 Slow down. Everything doesn’t have to get done today.

😴 Prioritize your sleep. Your brain does some important work while you’re resting.

💕 Give yourself grace. You don’t have to earn the right to rest!

✨ WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE: Take at least 20 minutes today to unplug, relax, and do something that doesn’t involve a to-do list. No guilt allowed!

Dr. Pinky says that’s an order! 😂🐾💗

Remember, you matter. Your health matters. Your brain matters.

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain.

💗🧠 TRIBUTE TUESDAY | HAPPY HEAVENLY 70TH BIRTHDAY, MOM! 🧠💗

Hey friends, Titia the NP here!

Today’s Morning Brain Minute is a little different. Today is personal. 💕

Today, October 20th, my beautiful mother, Venus, would have celebrated her 70th birthday. 🕊️💗

My mother was a nurse. She spent her life caring for others, but she also understood the importance of taking care of herself.

She never missed her physicals. She stayed on top of her health. She did the things we encourage people to do every single day.

And yet, at just 52 years old, my mother passed away from complications of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

I think about that often.

As a nurse practitioner, I spend so much time educating people about prevention, early detection, and taking care of their bodies. But my mother’s story reminds me of something equally important:

You can do everything right and still get sick.

Preventive care matters. Screenings matter. Listening to your body matters. But none of those things comes with a guarantee.

And sometimes, life just isn’t fair.

But my mother was so much more than the illness that took her from us.

💗 She was a nurse.

💗 She was a mother.

💗 She was a sister.

💗 She was a grandmother.

She was Venus. ❤️

A woman who cared for others, loved her family, and left behind a legacy that continues through all of us.

AML may have taken her life at 52, but it will never define the life she lived.

I wish she were here to celebrate 70. I wish I could hear her voice, laugh with her, and make just one more memory.

But today, I choose to celebrate her LIFE, not just the illness that took her from us.

🧠 TUESDAY BRAIN HEALTH REMINDER: Memories are powerful. Looking at old photographs, sharing stories, and honoring the people we’ve lost can help us maintain meaningful emotional connections. Grief and gratitude can exist together, and it’s okay to feel both.

💕 TUESDAY CHALLENGE: Call someone you love. Take the picture. Make the memory. Share the story. And please, continue taking care of your health, even when life reminds us that we cannot control everything.

Happy heavenly 70th birthday, Mama Venus! 🕊️💗

You were only here for 52 years, but your love will last my lifetime.

I love you. I miss you. And I will carry you with me always.

Today, we celebrate the woman, not the disease. 💗

Now go drink your water, take a deep breath, and be kind to your brain.
