As Tax Season gets into full swing, we wanted to let you know about a particular tax benefit included in the recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).

Starting with your 2025 return (filed in 2026), individuals can deduct up to $10,000 of interest paid on a qualifying auto loan for a NEW vehicle.

To take this deduction:
The car must be new and for your personal use (no business or lease vehicles).

It must have been purchased with a loan taken out after Dec. 31, 2024.

The vehicle must meet certain IRS rules — like the vehicle's final assembly must be in the U.S. and the weight must be under 14,000 lbs.

Also, you can claim this deduction regardless of whether you itemize or take the standard deduction!

This deduction will begin to phase out if your modified adjusted gross income is over $100,000 (single) or $200,000 (joint).

If you have any questions about this or any other tax law provisions, feel free to send us a message or give us a call.

Thank you for your continued trust in us for your Accounting and Tax needs!

*****SCAM ALERT*****

We’ve been made aware of scam text messages claiming to be from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. Like this picture, these messages often say something like “You have a refund” or “Your account is under review” and include a link or phone number. Please DO NOT click any links or provide personal information.

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration and Internal Revenue Service will not contact taxpayers by text message about refunds, payments, or account issues.

If you receive one of these texts and aren’t sure what to do, give us a call or stop by. We’ll gladly help you verify whether something is legitimate — we’d rather you ask than worry or risk sharing sensitive information.

Stay cautious and always double-check before responding to any unexpected messages about taxes.

The Internal Revenue Service today announced tax relief for individuals and businesses in the entire state of ARKANSAS due to the devastating storms and flooding that ravaged our state beginning April 2, 2025. So here’s what that means:

1. Your 2024 Individual Income Tax Return is not due until 11/3/2025.

2. Your 2024 Federal Income Tax won’t be due until 11/3/2025.

3. Your 2025 Estimated Tax Payments that would be due 4/15/2025, 6/15/2025, and 9/15/2025 are not due until 11/3/2025.

4. Quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on 4/30/2025, 7/31/2025, and 10/31/2025 are not due until 11/3/2025.

5. Corporation and Fiduciary Tax Returns and payments? Yep, you’re extended to 11/3/2025 also.

6. Calendar non-profits? Yep, due 11/3/2025.

Governor Sanders issued an executive order covering 63 counties that moved state tax deadlines to 7/31/2025. In light of the IRS’s announcement, I look for the Governor to issue an executive order covering the remaining 12 counties.

If you have questions, please give us a call at the office. We will, however, still be closed on April 16. Even with the extension we all still need a little break. 😂

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices made by the incredible men and women who have served in our armed forces. To all veterans—thank you for your selflessness and unwavering commitment to our country. You have protected our freedoms and defended our values, often at great personal cost.

Let us never take for granted the sacrifices made by these heroes. Whether it’s by reaching out to a veteran, supporting veteran organizations, or simply taking a moment to reflect, let’s show our gratitude today and every day.
