Over the years I have implemented many of Dave Ramsey’s money tactics, but this post on credit scores is a tough one.
I feel, in the world most of us live, it is very difficult to ignore one’s credit score. So much of today’s financial system is powered by our scores. In many cases we are penalized if our score is below a certain level and given discounts and credits if it’s over.
For me, a better way to look at what Dave is saying is it’s not the wisest decision to go out and start charging everything I may need or want just to”RAISE MY CREDIT SCORE!”. That is the time I can get myself in trouble and justify everything I want.
This is when I have to check my motives for what I am purchasing.
I have also known people who have had unfortunate events in their life happen and their credit score becomes a huge black cloud and the only way to recover is to earn back your credit score and unfortunately monthly rent or utility bills will take you a very long time to do that so you are left with borrowing wisely to turn your credit score around.
Life isn’t black and white and neither is the financial world.
