God is still in the blessing business! I usually don't do this but here it goes. On yesterday, my sisters, daughter, & niece had an outing. Everything went well as planned. We went to a restaurant for dinner in Hattiesburg. I ate fried oysters because they're my favorite seafood. I went back to my daughter's house & laid down. All of a sudden, my face begins to itch & I was trying to brush it off like nothing. So I went washed it again. Then my neck started itching uncontrollably! Then my head all over. I'm like now my hair & scalp is clean; what's going on? I sat there a few more minutes & began to itch everywhere, forming outbreaks of hives, bumps, welps, etc. after about 10 minutes, I ran downstairs & told my daughter, I believe I'm having an allergic reaction to the food. I say get some Benadryl & let me try that. As she was going to get it, I started coughing , throat hurting uncontrollably! I am now having a hard time swallowing. I looked in the mirror & my right eye was starting to close. My feet started itching on the top & my whole body felt like fire. So I'm thinking take my clothes off to cool off as it felt like I was on fire. She gave me the Benadryl & said " oh no I'm taking you to the hospital." We got to Forest General & the receptionist saw me & said " oh no just give your name, date of birth & social," & hollered to the nurse & doctor "bad allergic reaction & she needs to be seen immediately!" A nurse came & grabbed me by the hand & begin to tell me to calm down & they were going to take good care of me. I got to the room & 4 workers came in : one was starting the IV & another taking vitals: heart rate steady climbing; blood pressure up. I said probably because of my situation & Im a little anxious. I never once stopped praying even from inside or outside. They gave me the 1st injection of Epinephrine. I then needed 6 other medications. They administered those & gave me a breathing treatment to help with my breathing as one of the meds traveled through my nasal passage to help clear my lungs & help with my breathing. This caused severe pain to my nasal passage but I tolerated it. Now after 8 medications, I'm waiting for everything to get back to normal. So I started feeling better. Doctor say I suffered a "severe", life- threatening, allergic reaction & made it in time to be treated. So now I have to carry an Epi-pen daily in case I ever have an allergic reaction to anything. All I could say is my mommy is watching over me & had those "4" angels waiting on me. Y'all, I had been feeling so down & out this holiday season w/ my mom's death, then my brother's, husband's & aunt's health not being where it should. It was just taking a toll on me. I previously refused to put up any decorations inside(so not me)ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. However, after last night, I had a real good talk with myself & said thank you Lord for blessing me! Thank you Lord for the staff at Forest General. Y'all that medical staff treated me quickly & professionally. I give them an A+!! I haven't seen that type of service in a while( no shade). I'm feeling better & up doing some inside decor! Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to encourage someone because a lot of people are going through it right now; but guess what, if you read my "book," that means you're still here to tell your story. Be encouraged! I love y'all & thank God I was at my daughter"s house when this happened & not driving 70 miles back home because the story may have been different.
