💼⏰ Late timesheet? You still have to pay them on time.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, wages are due on the regular payday—no exceptions, even if they didn’t submit their hours. It’s the employers responsibility to track time worked. Ask them for their hours or make your best estimate. You can always correct it later.

What can you do? Address the issue through progressive discipline if needed (think: a reminder, warning, or more—depending on the situation). Just remember: late paychecks aren’t the solution.

Discipline? Yes. Delay pay? No.

To all our current individual tax clients!🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Important Tax Submission Deadlines:

As outlined in our engagement letter for this tax season, if your personal return is on extension, in order to facilitate timely filing, we kindly ask that you submit all necessary information by Friday, August 1st, 2025. Based on historical timelines, this serves as a reasonable target for our staff to complete your personal income tax returns by the extension deadline.

Personal income tax returns on extension are due by Wednesday, October 15th, 2025! This also includes C-Corporation tax returns for businesses recognized as a C-Corp.

Remember, an extension grants an additional 6-months to file and is an extension of time, not an extension to pay.

Only one extension is allowed so if your personal return is not submitted by October 15th, you may face late filing penalties and interest.

📢 **Oregon’s Minimum Wage is Increasing — Effective TODAY!**⁠
(July 1, 2025)

If you have employees working in Oregon, it’s time to double-check your payroll! Updated minimum wage rates are now in effect. Make sure you’re paying your team according to the latest guidelines to stay compliant.⁠

💵 What’s Changing?
Minimum wage has increased by $0.35 across the board:

🔹 Standard Rate: $15.05 (up from $14.70)
Applies to counties including Benton, Clatsop, Columbia, Deschutes, Hood River, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Polk, Tillamook, Wasco, Yamhill, and parts of Clackamas, Multnomah & Washington counties outside the urban growth boundary.

🔹 Portland Metro Area: $16.30 (up from $15.95)
For employees working within the urban growth boundary in parts of Clackamas, Multnomah & Washington counties.

🔹 Nonurban Counties: $14.05 (up from $13.70)
Applies to counties including Baker, Coos, Crook, Curry, Douglas, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler.

File your 2025 Q2 payroll tax returns by July 31st! The forms may vary by state, but for our clients that usually includes the Federal Form 941 and the Oregon Form OQ as well as any other state-specific returns depending on the location of your business.

As of July 1st, 2025, minimum wage is going up in Oregon once again!💸

Minimum wage is increasing by $0.35 and varies by region.

* Standard: $15.05
* Portland Metro: $16.30
* Nonurban Counties: $14.05

Rates will continue to be adjusted annually based on the increase, if any, to the US City average Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers.

The Portland Metro minimum wage will remain $1.25 over the standard rate while the Nonurban Counties rate will remain $1.00 under the standard rate.
