I had a client call me today asking about renewing his plan. I asked him if he had ever looked at Private market options. He said No! He’s asked every broker he could and everyone told him only BCBS and United are available in WY.
He’s been paying 3x his mortgage all year for health insurance he’s never used. I found a plan for a fraction of that with $0 deductible and $3000 Max out of Pocket.
If you’re currently on BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, or another ACA Marketplace plan, but make too much to qualify for subsidies, it’s only getting worse.
Health insurance costs are continuing to climb. We’re expecting a 15% increase in ACA Marketplace premiums nationwide, while subsidy confidence is getting lower.
For perspective, a family of four in Wyoming can average around $3,389/month for a Gold ACA plan — or more than $40,000 per year — before subsidies.
No one should pay more than a mortgage for a product you may never use.
The good news is:
There are private-market health insurance options outside of the traditional ACA Marketplace.
For individuals and families who are relatively healthy, certain private-market plans may offer:
✅ $0 deductible options
✅ Lower monthly premiums
✅ Private-market coverage
✅ Plans designed around healthy individuals and families
There ARE affordable options.
At Peak Health Strategies, we help individuals, families, and small businesses explore their health coverage options — including solutions beyond the traditional Marketplace.
If you’re paying full price for BCBS or UnitedHealthcare because you make too much for subsidies, it may be worth seeing what’s available outside the Marketplace.
