New Filing Deadline for IRS Taxes

The IRS said today that it is expanding tax relief efforts for Tennesseans impacted by January’s devastating ice storm.

At the beginning of April, the IRS said that tax relief would be given to only certain counties in which individuals and businesses reside, saying they would have until May 22 to file. Today the IRS said that the relief would be expanded to all 95 counties in Tennessee. Taxpayers in the state will now have until June 8 to file their federal individual and business returns and make their tax payments.
