If you got unemployment in 2021 you probably won't be able to file until close to March.

UIA 1099-G ALERT: Programming changes related to waivers granted in 2021 means the UIA won’t be able to issue 1099-G tax forms until the end of February. The IRS provided an extension. The first automatic extension goes to July 15th but I can file another until October 15th with consent. Meanwhile business hours are suspended but documents can be dropped off in the mail slot or mailed to PO Box 26 Shelby.

The IRS has moved the deadline to pay your 2019 taxes from 4-15-2020 to 7-15-2020. That is not yet an extension to file... only to pay. But preparers can extend the deadline to file to 10-15-2020 anyway, as they can every year, so this helps only with the due date of having to pay without penalty or interest.

Open mid January to mid April 1pm to 6pm 6 days a week. Other hours by appointment only... and appointments should be made by Facebook messenger if at all possible as even email is only checked a few times a month in the off season compared to in season when it's every few minutes.

Yet another tax scam going around...

Believe it or not, criminals are using real bank accounts in a fast-spreading scam that could gain more traction as we move into prime refund season, according to the Internal Revenue Service.
