Wednesday and Thursday saw both the S&P and Nasdaq hit new records. Strong earnings from a major tech company and chip stock strength pushed the S&P above 7,500 and the Dow back over 50,000.
Friday reversed course as a three-day U.S.-China summit wrapped up without major breakthroughs on Middle East peace talks.

Stocks rallied, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hitting record highs even as oil prices crossed $100 a barrel. Tech stocks bounced back and investors seemed less worried about the overseas conflict.
