Just a quick reminder for Mississippi taxpayers:

The IRS has extended certain federal tax deadlines for Mississippi residents and businesses affected by the winter storms earlier this year. The current federal relief deadline is June 8, 2026. (IRS)

If you’ve been putting off filing, still need to handle paperwork, or have received IRS notices you haven’t dealt with yet, now is a good time to get ahead of it before the last-minute rush starts again.

And one more thing:there are also several new tax law changes beginning this season involving overtime pay, tips, and other deductions that many people are hearing about online — but not all of the information floating around is accurate yet. (IRS)

If you’re unsure what applies to you, it’s always better to ask questions now than untangle problems later.

Steady and one step at a time.

From behind this desk, I’ve learned something over the years:

Most people don’t come through that door because they love paperwork.

They come in carrying stress.
Questions.
Sometimes embarrassment.
Sometimes fear they waited too long.

And more often than not, what they really need is someone calm enough to say,
“Alright… let’s look at it together.”

That’s the part of this work that matters most to me.

Not just the forms and numbers —
but helping people leave feeling lighter than when they walked in.

So if something’s been weighing on you lately — taxes, bookkeeping, payroll, letters, or just not knowing where to start — don’t let it sit there another month worrying you.

We’ll figure it out.

Steady and one step at a time.

Real talk for a minute—

A lot of folks wait because they think they need everything lined up before they walk through my door.

Receipts perfect. Papers sorted. Questions figured out.

Truth is… you don’t.

If something doesn’t make sense to you, that’s exactly when you come see me.

That’s what I’m here for.

We’ll sit down, go through it together, and get it handled the right way — no guessing, no rushing.

If it’s been on your mind, don’t carry it another week.

I’m in the office today.

From behind the desk today—

One thing you can expect moving forward:

👉 There’s less room for guesswork than ever before.

If it’s on a tax return,
it needs to be backed up.

Not “I think.”
Not “that’s what I was told.”
Not “that’s what we did last year.”

Just facts.
Just documentation.
Just what can be proven.

The system is changing—
and it’s becoming more about what you can support,
not just what you can enter.

Save this. It matters more than people realize.

A quick heads up from behind the desk today—

If you received a Form 1095-A for health insurance, you may still need to file a tax return… even if your only income was Social Security.

I know that surprises folks.

That form has to be reconciled properly, or it can cause problems down the road — especially with your health coverage.

If you’ve been wondering whether you needed to file or not, it’s worth taking a quick look before it turns into a bigger issue later.

You don’t have to have everything figured out — that’s my job.

Feel free to message me or stop by, and we’ll take care of it together.

From behind the desk today — a little midweek truth:

A lot of people think tax problems come from doing something wrong…

But more often than not, they come from simply not knowing what to do next.

A missing form.
A letter that gets set aside.
A question that never gets asked.

That’s how small things turn into big ones.

If you’ve got something sitting on your kitchen table you’re unsure about —
don’t guess your way through it.

That’s what I’m here for.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you walk through the door.
