Had a great time as an Exhibitor and attending the AzDA WRDE conference last week.

BJ and I had the opportunity to connect with hundreds of dental professionals and support staff over the 3-day event. Grateful for the conversations, insights, and relationships that continue to come from partnering with associations like AzDA.

This industry is full of hard-working individuals that have dedicated their careers to the health and the smiles of the community around them. We're incredibly blessed to have the chance to play a role in the dental space. Supporting the people that keep the industry moving in a positive direction.

Looking forward to building on these relationships and continuing to support dental professionals at a high level across group retirement and personal wealth.

Long read, promise it's worth it.
Generational Wealth:

“Millennials are the first generation that are worse off than their parents.”

I recently heard that on a podcast that I was listening to and typically, when I hear “Baby Boomers this” or “Millennials that” I kind of check out.

Mostly because it’s followed with, “your generation just doesn’t understand hard work.” Right… couldn’t agree more… Also, where do these generations start and end? I’m still trying to figure that out.

But there is something here that’s worth paying attention to in that quote.
Here is where I’ve landed:

“The wealth that most people are chasing today is no longer attainable without thinking beyond your own lifetime."

It requires multi-generational planning.

Otherwise, the path is extreme concentration or a highly successful liquidity event (you build and sell a business). Both of which require an astronomical amount of risk.

So, why the shift?

Wages have been outpaced by cost of living. Ownership matters more than ever but is harder to access. Climbing the corporate ladder now requires more than just ability alone. It’s about proximity, negotiation skills, relationships, and positioning.

The “currency” of today’s economy is shifting away from hard work to things like leverage, access, and attention.

So, the vary basis of what we are doing fundamentally must change and I think it goes from a “how do I build wealth?” To, “how do WE build something that lasts?”

Wealth is no longer just about what you accumulate. We've heard the horror stories of "generational wealth" disappearing within one generation. It’s about what you’re able to sustain not just in dollars, but family values, identity, and purpose.

PRESSURE. I love it. The decisions we make today don’t just impact us, they impact generations. Pressure for sure, but I think when applied correctly it drives families to be more intentional, work together, and get aligned on WHO ARE WE?

So maybe millennials aren’t so behind after all, they just represent a line in sand where working together as a family has become of the utmost importance.

Good work, Unc.

And if that isn't your story, if you don't come from the best structure or foundation. Maybe you can be that line in the sand. Do the work, ask the questions, and discover who am I and what will I build from here?

"Good people leave an inheritance to their children's children..." -Proverbs 13:22

Thought of the day: Leadership

"Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about taking care of those in your charge." - Simon Sinek

Most people hear that and assume if you lead well, people will follow. However, one of the hardest truths I've come to learn over time is that you can lead well and people still won't follow.

To this day I still find myself sometimes internalizing that. Thinking that I failed in my role as a leader when people don't choose to work with me. That I should have communicated better or pushed a little harder or maybe I pushed too hard. I NEED to prove myself.

Eventually, I came to realize something much deeper. Seldom do people want what they actually say they want, and even fewer are willing to count the cost and do what it takes to get there.

"O the boldness of the untested."

We say we want financial stability, a healthy marriage, happy children, and a successful career without truly understanding the sacrifices required to have those things.

Leadership exist in all of those desires. How are we leading ourselves? How are we leading others? Where are we willing to be lead? Leadership is not about being followed by everyone. It's about defining who you are, leading from your convictions, and building with the right people.

"Can two people walk together, without agreeing on the direction?" Amos 3:3

HYROX '26 - First Misogi moment of the year.
Jim Mellin spoke at our State of the Branch here in Scottsdale back in October of last year. My biggest take away? Misogi moments. Transformative experiences that push individuals to their physical, mental, and emotional limits. I left that meeting inspired and shortly after signed up to compete in my first HYROX. Definitely the hardest physical thing that I've ever done. But wow what an experience. I'm so incredibly blessed to have gotten the opportunity to run with my best friend, Danner. I cannot wait to continue to stack Misogi moments. That way I can look back on my life and be proud of the story that unfolded. This how I thank the Lord, for giving me an able body.

My hope is that all of us are building lives that we can look back and be proud of. For me a part of that is misogi moments. All for the glory of God. When you look back on your life what story do you want to be told? I'd love to hear it.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23

2025, what a year. Some of the highest highs and lowest lows. The Lord has been there with me through it all. So excited for 2026, it's going to be the best one yet. Just taking a moment to show gratitude. If in 2025 we had the opportunity to connect, thank you. To my clients, I feel incredibly blessed to work with you, thank you for trusting me. I will steward it well.

"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" Mark 8:35-36

Time, Attention, Resource. Those three things together equate to the true currency of wealth. Where they are placed is where you will find what matters most to you. I'd encourage you to regularly take inventory of where you're placing yours. If not, you run the risk of drifting.
Time - what we value.
Attention - what we've prioritized.
Resource - where we place our trust.
My hope is that this stirs something in you, and if so, I'd love to hear more.

"So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it." Hebrews 2:1

Monday Morning Mindset: Cherry Picking with Our Finances 🍒🍒

At church we have been going through an 8-part series discussing the Enemies of Longevity to a person faith. The title of the message yesterday was, "The Cherry-Picking Truth." My Pastor explored the idea that often times believers will cherry pick the things that affirm or support their own positions/feelings. Ultimately, this can prove to be detrimental to the Longevity of their Faith because it leaves them compromised. Regardless of your beliefs, how often do we do this with our finances?

In finances, Cherry-picking happens when we only focus on the parts of the strategy that fit our comfort zone. We want high returns but avoid disciplined saving. We like the idea of being financially literate but refuse to seek guidance. We romanticize financial independence but resist the sacrifices it takes to get there. We chase shortcuts instead of building something everlasting.

In basketball, cherry-picking is becoming a very prevalent strategy at your local LA Fitness (if you don't know what I am talking about look it up, because that was a top-tier joke). The objective is to score as many points as possible to win the game. However, another way to improve the odds of victory is to prevent the other team from scoring. It is the commitment to both offense and defense that is the recipe for success. Are you cherry-picking with your financial plan?

Mindset Monday: Presidents’ Day - In honor of all the great Presidents over the years (and the not so great) they are the inspiration for Today's post.

Great leaders don’t just think about today—they make decisions that shape the future. Presidents have had to navigate wars, economic crises, and major reforms with long-term vision. Your finances should be no different.

Smart investing isn’t about quick wins; it’s about consistent, strategic decisions over time. That means contributing to your 401(k) with an employer match, maxing out your Roth IRA for tax-free growth, and leveraging taxable investment accounts for flexibility. The key? A disciplined approach that ensures financial security down the road.

Just like great leaders shape a nation’s future, the choices you make today will define your financial future. Are you setting yourself up for long-term success?
