IRS warning of ERC scams

The knows you work hard for your and your employees. But be careful with the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) . This is a refundable tax credit for businesses who continued paying employees while shut down due to the pandemic or who had significant declines in gross receipts. Carefully review ERC guidelines before claiming the credit. Business should watch out for scams or being duped by ERC aggressive marketing.

Arizona recently announced transaction privilege tax (TPT) relief. Taxpayers unable to file or pay TPT, county excise taxes, or municipal privilege taxes for tax periods beginning February 1, 2020, may request an abatement from late filing and late payment penalties by completing Form 290. Relief isn’t guaranteed: It will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
