Your coworker is about to get promoted over you. And they haven’t worked a single hour harder than you have.
Here’s what’s actually happening inside companies right now — and nobody is saying this out loud.
I spent this past weekend with three of my closest friends. Each of them owns an eight-figure business. A concrete company. A pool company. A farming operation.
And every single one of them, unprompted, told me the same thing.
The standout employees at their companies right now are not the hardest workers. They are the ones who went home, learned how to build AI agents, and came back and made themselves irreplaceable.
My grandfather became CFO of his company because he made one decision nobody else would make. He learned how to use a computer. While everyone called it a fad — he stayed late, figured it out, and inside of two years he was running the finances of the entire company.
That window didn’t stay open forever.
This is that moment. Right now.
Here’s the one thing you can do tonight. Open Claude or ChatGPT and type this: “I work as a blank. My most repetitive daily task is blank. Act as a productivity consultant and walk me through automating it — like I’ve never done this before.” Fill in those two blanks. That’s it. That’s your starting point.
The people who do this in the next six months are going to look back at this moment the same way my grandfather looked back at 1978.
If this hit you — send it to someone you know who needs to hear it.
