🚨 2027 MEDICARE ALERT: This is NOT the year to blindly renew your plan.
UnitedHealthcare and Humana are ending selected Medicare Advantage plans affecting nearly 1 million members nationwide for 2027, including about 390,000 UnitedHealthcare members and roughly 600,000 Humana members. (Fortune)
And here in Florida, the changes hit even closer to home.
🏥 Lee Health: Beginning January 1, 2027, Lee Health hospitals and physicians will be out-of-network for affected UnitedHealthcare employer-based, individual and Medicare Advantage plans. (Lee Health)
🏥 Sarasota Memorial + First Physicians Group: Their current UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage agreement runs through December 31, 2026, and Sarasota Memorial says it expects UHC to remove SMH and FPG from its Medicare Advantage network January 1, 2027. (Sarasota Memorial Health Care System)
💊 Part D is changing too: The standard deductible rises from $615 to $700, and the annual out-of-pocket threshold rises from $2,100 to $2,400 for 2027. (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
This is exactly why your Medicare review needs to go deeper than the carrier name.
