We have made several operational and policy changes that allow Sharp Income Tax and Sharp Accounting & Payroll to continue serving our clients while also doing our part to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
• All appointments are now being conducted either via phone or online tools. If you have a previously scheduled appointment and have not yet been contacted, one of our staff members will be in touch soon to reschedule.
• If possible, all documents should be uploaded to our secure portal, or sent via email or fax. While the risk of virus transmission on packages and envelopes is likely low, the online portal is our most convenient and secure option. Please do not send us information via unsecure email, we will not be able to accept it. If the portal is not feasible for you, physical mail is acceptable—or you can call us to discuss drop-off alternatives. We are installing a secure drop box outside our office to receive your documents.
Rest assured, we are still working diligently to ensure our clients’ tax preparation and filings proceed in a timely fashion. We also are closely monitoring the actions of the federal government with regards to tax deadline extensions, potential payroll tax holidays, and other issues.
We strongly encourage tax clients to submit all reporting information to the office as soon as possible to enable us to continue to assist with filing responsibilities. At this time the IRS has not extended the filing deadline, it is still April 15.
If you have any questions about the impact of these changes—or if you simply need to discuss your tax or accounting situation—don’t hesitate to contact us. We are hard at work, even if we’re not in the office. Please be safe and stay well!
