Efile opens January 26. Employers have until the end of the month to get you your W2s. But you can start gathering your documents NOW!! Get your receipts, expenses, etc together so that you’re only waiting for that W2 to drop. Then make your your appointment to see me! 919-770-8582

No tax on overtime….lets talk about it.

The best way to explain it is with an example because it doesn’t mean what a lot of people think it means.

You make $40 an hour. Overtime pay is $60 an hour. The part that isn’t taxed is the actual overtime pay of $20 an hour. NOT the hours you worked at $60 an hour. So basically, only one-third of your total overtime pay qualifies you for the deduction of UP TO $12.5k.
