❓In what way do you want to make the world a better place?
By promoting and cultivating a love for learning. Knowledge is power and sharing knowledge is one of the most important gifts you can give those around you, particularly our youth. As someone who is actively involved in tutoring and mentoring programs in my community, I see firsthand that when youth are empowered with knowledge and resources, they can contribute more effectively to society as a whole.
❓What is your favorite memory while working for/with SDG?
There are many so many to choose from! I think my favorite memory was when SDG was awarded the CEO Award at the Partner Summit the first year that I was part of the team. After watching all of their hard work, seeing them receive this was goosebump worthy!
❓Recommendations for good books/tv shows or movies?
I don't watch a ton of TV but I did just start the series The Diplomat and I am hooked. As far as political dramas go, this checks all the boxes - clever writing, characters with just the right level of complexity and some pretty witty dialogue. It is a nice balance of serious and light - definitely worth the watch.
❓What did you want to be when you were seven years old and why?
A fashion designer, Olympic swimmer, lawyer, teacher, Daisy Duke - just to name a few. I was always told to dream big - there were no limits to what you could be. I loved that about being a child - you could truly imagine yourself being anything you wanted to be!
❓What are you going to accomplish in the next year?
One of my goals for 2025 is to finish my first Tough Mountain Challenge in July. Physical fitness has taken a back seat to other responsibilities in recent years and I am hoping that committing to the Tough Mountain will be just the right motivation to recommit to a long-lost fitness routine. I am not one to accept failure (or to want to embarrass myself) so I am optimistic that this will get me back on track!
❓What is one question you cannot seem to find the answer to?
This one.......
