FULL/PART-TIME ENTRY LEVEL ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Hour 9-6

This position is good for a first or second year accounting student to do general accounting related tasks in a CPA firm.

We are an established Accounting firm seeking to hire a focused, diligent, and smart junior accountant to join our growing team. As an Entry Level Accounting Assistant, you will provide vital support to the senior accountant to process and maintain external clients’ reporting needs. Other essential functions include:

Familiarity with accounting software and tax preparation software such as Intuit QuickBooks, PeachTree, Sage 50 Accounting or Pro Series
Establishing and generating financial reports and accounting ledgers
Auditing and analyzing financial data, reports, and financial forecast
Exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality with regard to managing client accounts
Ability to complete deadlines on a consistent basis with little direct supervision
The ideal candidate is a first or second year Accounting or Finance student with strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills. Preferably someone driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, and with strong attention to detail and high-level of accuracy in maintaining financial records and following company guidelines and procedures.

-Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail
-Assist with handling incoming calls and other communications
-Maintain storage files and list
-Assist with handling office tasks, such as filing (clear cart by days end), organizing binders (notebooks), file cabinet, generating reports, creating office supplies list to order, and setting up for meetings
