On this quiet April 15th, I shut down my computer, locked the door, and walked down the hallway toward my car with a heart full of gratitude. Thirty years ago today I celebrated the end of my very first tax season — a milestone I never imagined I would reach. Back then, a career in taxes wasn’t something I pictured for myself, yet it became the place where I learned, grew, and found purpose.
Those early years were a mixture of late nights, steep learning curves, and small victories that slowly built confidence. Over time, the work became less about forms and numbers and more about people — clients who trusted me in moments of uncertainty, families seeking guidance, businesses navigating change. Helping them file returns, plan strategically, and make sense of the tax world has been an honor that continues to humble me.
There have been proud moments I could never fully summarize in words: the relief on a client’s face after a complicated filing was resolved, the quiet gratitude of someone who finally felt their future was a little more secure, the mentorship and relationships formed along the way. Those moments, more than anything, define the meaning of these thirty years.
Today there’s no big ceremony, no loud fanfare — just the ordinary closing of a day that holds extraordinary significance to me. I sit with deep appreciation for the colleagues who taught me, the clients who trusted me, and the unexpected journey that shaped who I am.
I’m also filled with hopeful pride looking ahead, knowing that at some point TaylorAnn will be the one serving our clients. The thought that this work, this commitment to service, will continue in capable hands is both comforting and joyful.
Thirty years feels like a lifetime of lessons, and yet it has flown by. I am humbled by the trust placed in me, grateful for every challenge that made me better, and quietly excited for the future we’ll continue to build.
Thank you EVERYONE!
