Italy has 14 regions that are taxed at a flat 7%. These are regions in the south with under 20,000 residents. The idea is to spurn economic growth. What if the US had something like this for less populated states? Would we see people heading towards middle America? It sure would be interesting.

Unfortunate bureaucracy.

Unlike the special 2021 rules for charitable contributions, the 2022 and 2023 rules require donors to itemize their deductions to claim any charitable contribution deductions. The AGI limit, which was 100% in 2021, goes back to 60% for cash donations for qualified charities.

Just like a fictitious business name, the tax deadline of April 15 is “somewhat” of a fictitious deadline. A taxpayer can file an extension and if they are receiving a refund, the IRS is more than willing to allow you to reach the statute of limitations (aka steal your money). If you owed money, it was due in the prior year. The IRS allows for owing r a relatively small amount after the tax year, this amount is calculated on form 2210.
