At some point, anyone can be audited by the IRS.

Here’s some simple advice to stay compliant:

1.Claim Your Own Kids:
Don’t let others claim your dependents. The Earned Income Credit (EIC) only covers up to three dependents but you can still get the Child Tax Credit (CTC) for more than three if they qualify

2.Only Report What You Can Prove:
If you don’t have proof for something, don’t put it on your tax return. Keep records of everything.

3.Be Ready for an Audit:
Audits can happen randomly, but if you’re being honest and paperwork is in order, there’s nothing to worry about.

As we get ready for the upcoming tax season, it’s important to know the new federal tax brackets for 2024, which have been adjusted for inflation. Here’s a breakdown based on your filing status:

For Single Filers:

10% on income up to $11,600
12% on income between $11,601 and $47,150
22% on income between $47,151 and $100,525

For Married Filing Jointly:

10% on income up to $23,200
12% on income between $23,201 and $94,300
22% on income between $94,301 and $201,050

For Head of Household:

10% on income up to $16,550
12% on income between $16,551 and $63,100
22% on income between $63,101 and $100,500

These brackets will help you understand how your income is taxed for the year❤️
