I want more people to understand the power of compound interest. Even saving a small amount consistently can add up! Here are the numbers discussed in the video:
Start at age 25 with $0.
Invest $7,000 per year with an average 8% hypothetical annual rate of return.
At age 65 you would have approximately $1.8 million.
What you personally contributed in the scenario is only $280,000.
That means approximately $1.5 million is growth within the account!

Happy 529 day!
529 college savings plans have a lot of fantastic features. The growth within the account is tax free if used for qualified education expenses.

Some states also give you a state tax deduction on the contribution so check your state.

There are also ways to change the beneficiary and move unused balances to a Roth IRA(there are specific rules about this so make sure you know what you are doing before proceeding).

It’s a cool account, reach out if you have more questions!

Is $465,000 enough to be considered “rich”? That may be the wrong goal anyway. Financial independence is a more realistic goal.

Here is one thing I wish people knew more about:
Some whole life policies don’t pay out the cash value in addition to the death benefit.
