Excited to announce that I am officially and AFC Candidate (Accredited Financial Counselor). That means I'm looking to get experience hours coaching others with their finances and teaching workshops on financial education while I work toward passing my certification exam at the end of this year.

My goal is to be certified going into 2025 but I need your help!

The important takeaway here is that AI is simply a tool. It cannot account for all of the factors going into what you spend your money on and it can’t really help on WHY you spend what you do.

While personal finance is pretty personal, simply knowing the numbers isn’t enough.

Start with the numbers and talk to an AFC or money coach to figure out a plan to change behavior to get to your goals.

As we head into the holiday weekend, be mindful of what’s on “sale” at retailers.

Just because it’s listed in the ad, that doesn’t mean it’s on sale.

Also, just because it’s on sale, that doesn’t mean it is a wise purchase at this time.

Always look at your budget and stick to the spending plan. Nice gifts don’t mean anything if you had to go into debt for them.

I did a video yesterday on my YouTube channel about setting goals. I promised to show my goals for 2023. Although I wrote 10 big financial goals, feel free to list yours in all areas of your life.

One thing you can do I write them as though it has already happened. For example, “I maxed out my IRA for the year.” Or, “I invest $500 per month for reformer.”

Also, take a look at your goals and forgive our which one, if you only concentrated on it, would make the other goals possible. For me, that’s making $10k/month.
