A lot of folks are having to verify their identity this year! If you are one of these people, you will either need to wait on the letter in the mail or if you have an ID.me account and you selected electronic mail delivery then you should have a letter under notices. There is a number on your letter you will need to verify online plus your 1040 for 2023. You can also call and make an in person appointment at your located IRS building, make sure to have your DL/ID and your 2023 Tax return (1040).
