We truly didn’t want to have to make a post, but we feel it’s important to keep everyone informed and to be transparent about our current situation.

For the next couple of weeks, we need a little time to get caught up on the tax paperwork that has already been dropped off, as well as what continues to come in daily. During this time, we will still be accepting drop-offs and scheduling pick-ups, but we will need to temporarily pause in-person appointments so that we can focus on getting everyone’s returns completed as quickly and accurately as possible.

We want everyone to understand that Jeff and I both work full-time at our primary jobs, and McCormick Tax is our secondary job that we work outside of those hours. This means our available time is limited, but please know that we are working on everyone’s taxes and are doing everything we can to stay on schedule.

We have fallen a bit behind recently due to our work schedules and some health-related challenges on my end. However, please rest assured that we are still putting in every available minute to get things completed — even during my infusion treatments this week, Jeff will be in the waiting room working on taxes while I am receiving my infusion so that we can continue moving forward.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support while we work through this busy time. Our goal is to provide you with the same careful and accurate service you trust us for, and that sometimes means taking the time we need to do things the right way.

Thank you so much for your business and your understanding.

Updated Tax Service Schedule

Good day, everyone! I wanted to share an update regarding my tax service schedule.

From now until Monday, I will be accepting drop-offs and pick-ups only. Beginning Monday, I will resume in-home appointments.

If you need to drop off tax paperwork before Monday, please place it in the mailbox on the front porch at my home. No appointment is needed for drop-offs. Please do not drop off paperwork at my primary job in Spruce Pine, as I must prioritize my responsibilities there.

If you have a tax-related question during my primary work hours, texting is the easiest way for me to respond.

To schedule an appointment, please call or text my wife, Stacey, at 256-668-7519, and she will be happy to get you scheduled. Drop-offs at my home are welcome at any time.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this transition may cause and truly appreciate your understanding. I look forward to helping you with your taxes!

Tax Office Hours:
• Monday–Friday: 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Good evening, everyone. I wanted to thank everyone for their continued business and support, we are off to a great year so far. However, I am having to make adjustments to my schedule with taxes. At this time I can only do drop-offs and pick-ups due to my hectic work schedule. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but at this time my work schedule will not allow me to do in-person meetings. Thank you all for your understanding and I look forward to helping you with your tax needs.

Good afternoon to all of my tax clients, I wanted to update everyone that I am doing taxes this year however, I am doing them in my spare time when I get off from my main job. Please be patient with me as I get everyone’s done, I will not put anyone ahead of someone else who has been waiting in line to get their taxes done. I apologize in advance that it may take me a few days or week to get to your return but I do promise to give each and every tax return the attention it needs and deserves as soon as it comes through in line, also to help speed up the process please make sure to write down or have the forms the IRS sends if you have received the 3rd stimulus and to include the child tax care form if you have received the child tax credit.

Thank you

The IRS has issued a statement saying you will receive 2 letters in the mail mid January that you will need to file your taxes. It will be concerning the stimulus that you received and the advanced child tax credits you did or didn’t receive. If you don’t have these forms and you guess at what you did or didn’t receive it will delay your refund. Also don’t forget the 1095a from health care market place if you had “Obama care” ins.
The irs will start accepting returns mid February.
