Imagine it's Saturday morning in retirement.

No alarms.

No meetings.

No deadlines.

Where are you?

Who are you with?

What are you doing?

More importantly...

How do you feel?

We ask this question because retirement planning doesn't start with money.

It starts with what you want your money to accomplish. That's why one of the first exercises we use is helping people envision their ideal retirement weekend before we ever start talking numbers.

Describe your perfect retirement Saturday below.

Retirement isn't just a financial transition.

For many people, it's the first time in decades their identity, routine, and sense of purpose begin to shift.

Some people step into retirement naturally.

Others discover that leaving work is easier than figuring out what comes next.

And both experiences are completely normal.

Retirement isn't just about leaving something behind.

It's about building a life you actually enjoy waking up to.

If you're preparing for retirement and want to think through both the financial and personal side of the transition, call or text our office at 916-367-6430.

To all the dads who taught us how to stand tall, work hard, laugh often, and believe in ourselves before we ever believed in ourselves… Happy Father's Day.

"The greatest mark of a father is not what he leaves behind, but who he helps his children become."

As the daughter of the founder of Monolith Financial Group, Father's Day carries a little extra meaning for me.

One of my favorite memories is standing on my dad's feet while he danced me around the room. Back then, he was leading every step, making sure I didn't fall. I trusted him completely.

Years later, I found myself following him into the family business. He taught me what it means to serve others, lead with integrity, and build something that matters. Just like those dances years ago, he guided me every step of the way.

Today, something has changed. While he's still beside me, he's giving me room to lead. And as I take those steps, I realize the greatest gift a father can give isn't just guidance—it's confidence.

Dad, thank you for believing in me long before I believed in myself. Thank you for showing me what hard work, character, and kindness look like. And thank you for trusting me to carry forward the legacy you've built.

Happy Father's Day to my dad and to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who help shape the lives of those around them. The impact you make reaches farther than you know.

❤️ Camille

It's about having enough moments.

One of the most important retirement plans isn't financial.

It's relational.

The strongest retirement plans often start with conversations like:

What do you want more of?

What do I want more of?

How can we create a retirement that works for both of us?

Retirement works best when both people get to be themselves.

One of the most important retirement conversations isn't about money.

It's about lifestyle.

Sometimes one spouse dreams about traveling the world.

The other dreams about slowing down and enjoying home.

Neither answer is wrong.

But having the conversation matters.

Which sounds more like your ideal retirement?

Some people spend decades preparing for retirement... and still struggle to enjoy it once they get there.

Not because they've done something wrong.

Often, it's because retirement can feel full of unknowns:
inflation, taxes, healthcare costs, market changes, and the fear of "what if something happens later?"

The challenge isn't always having enough money.

Sometimes it's feeling confident enough to actually enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build.

And sometimes the cost of waiting too long has nothing to do with money at all.

Let's dream a little.

If someone handed you two first-class tickets today and told you to go anywhere in the world...

Where would you go?

No budget.
No planning.
No restrictions.

What's the first destination that comes to mind?

One thing retirees tell me all the time:

"I thought retirement would feel different."

Not bad.

Just different.

Many people spend years preparing financially for retirement, but very little time preparing for what life will actually feel like once work ends.

The routines change.

The schedule changes.

Sometimes even your sense of purpose changes.

I've found that the happiest retirees aren't necessarily the ones with the most money.

They're often the ones who know what they're retiring TO, not just what they're retiring FROM.

What are you looking forward to most in retirement?
