The amount of times I’ve said, “kids, look how pretty!” as we’ve driven to pick up or drop off between homeschool programs, classes, and groups this season has been amazing! I love snow covered everything.

I’m a February baby and I love all the things - warm fires, cozy blankets, and snow. This has been a hard season for processing emotions and general life but these small moments of joy add up. They remind me of what’s good.

This is also my season of abundance. I remember my sister and fellow accountant telling me about this reframe and I am all for it!

Whatever season you are in, find that joy.

I do not have an income requirement to work with me. I totally respect and understand firms that do.

I work with small businesses, mostly solopreneurs, and sometimes from the start of their business idea. I also help them register their business, get an EIN, and all the things to get started. I love working with clients from the start. It means their books are clean and there is so much more ease. I also partner with well established businesses with messy books and everything in between. But only if we vibe and it’s within budget. Only if it feels good. I’m not the least expensive accountant. I’m really good at what I do and good at explaining it to others. I’ve been in this industry for almost 20 years. My experience and expertise, staff, and costs of doing business impacts fees - as it should yours.

If we are aligned, I got you - whether it’s Day 1 or Day 5001.

Happy Financial Wellness Month! I love that January marks both the start of a new year and wellness when it comes to our finances. We all know that high levels of stress lead to health issues. Here are a few ways to start working towards a healthier relationship with your finances in 2026.

- Familiarize yourself with where your money goes
- Create a monthly budget and cut back on a non-essential until you have a sufficient emergency fund that fits your needs
- Start to tackle a debt payment plan
- Start investing so that your money works for you.

For folks who need the extra reminder.

As entrepreneurs we know we can do hard things.
We still need the reminders 😉You can make changes today and everyday.

While I do think the New Year is a great time for reflection, goal setting, and change . . . I also know this can happen anytime.

If this is a hard season, choose what fits your needs best in the moment: pause, reflect, and keep pushing OR, pause, rest, and set a date sometime in the future for the New Year, New Energy planning.

Christmas has always been a big deal here in our home but this year feels different. As many of you know, we started our homeschooling journey in early 2023 and two out of our three kids are taught at home. Since our curriculum is Christian based and my husband was brought up Christian, the kids and I have been reading our bibles daily, we are really feeling very much now a part of our church family. It has been a rewarding experience for us. My faith in Christ and relationship with God has truly grown this past year. The communities we have joined and people we’ve met these last couples of years because of this has truly been a blessing. We can often get caught up in the busyness and anxiety that come along with holidays but I’ve found that leaning on prayer has given me strength. To be completely transparent, this year has had an abundance of challenges more so as the year continued. The start of our holiday season even came with sad news but I remain grateful for all of it. I hope your faith helps spark joy, hope, peace, love, connection, and growth this holiday season.

My ability to provide you with my best self relies heavily on this balance of me time, family time, and passion time. I’m so very blessed that my passion is entwined in my work.

Our offices our closed and will reopen on January 5, 2026 and we will be taking a small break from social media.

You may still schedule appointments and clients may still access the client portal. We will get back to folks by the Friday, January 9th.

Simple daily financial wellness guide for beginners:

1. Check your money snapshot. Note what you spent yesterday. Was that a need or a want? Time involved ~ 5 minutes.

2. Spend with intention today. Eliminate one item you won’t spend money on today. Set a daily spending amount. Pause when buying non-essential items in an effort to control impulse buying. Time involved ~ 5 minutes.

3. Protect the future you by automating one item. Move a small amount to savings ($1-$5 counts!). If you already automate, confirm it happened. Avoid unnecessary new debt. Your future self will be doing this out of habit. The goal here is to build consistency. Time involved ~ 5 minutes.

4. Learn or Reflect by reading a money tip (my newsletter is full of them!) or write one sentence starting with ‘One thing I did well with money today was . . .’ This will help build confidence and progress. Time involved ~ 3 minutes.

Feel calmer, more informed, and in control in less than 20 minutes a day.

Broken record here but I won’t stop talking about how important your mindset is.

The first step to reframing your thoughts is naming it. If you are talking to yourself negatively or from a place of scarcity - call it out. Recognize the action and then counter it.

Flip the script. It doesn’t have to be a overly positive. Neutral is okay. Start small. We control our thoughts. Our thoughts cause an emotional response. Let’s get into neutral.

Eventually, this continual action will help you grow and maybe we can even get excited when we start to talk about all things money.

Money is a tool but folks with a scarcity mindset certainly don’t feel the same as folks who have an abundant or neutral mindset around money. It takes practice and anyone with a will to change can change how they respond or behave when it comes to finances.

This resonates.

I know I’m not the only one who pauses when life gets heavy. I think it’s smart actually to take a pause but if I pause too long, it feels more like avoidance.

Avoiding the inevitable can make things way worse. There are enough uncontrollable elements and surprises in life, so when it comes to finances, I prefer being proactive.

This morning, I was listening to a podcast about five things to start now to gear up for the New Year. The first item on the list was starting each day with gratitude. I’ve been doing this daily for almost a decade. For me it’s been transformational. I am a deeply emotional being and it has helped me look for joy which in turn has brought more of it into my life.

Look, I’m not here to tell you that I will help you LOVE all things money, bookkeeping, and taxes. But I’m here to tell you that you have the power to shift your perspective. Delegate tasks. Appreciate the beautiful moments even when it gets hard. This applies to all things in our lives.

I can help with the financial piece if you are ready for a change.
