Now that the 2020 Tax Filing season is behind us (unless you are on extension), its time to reflect back on your experience working with your current Accountant/Tax Preparer.

Were you happy with their responsiveness? Their timing? Their level of service to you as a client? Did they ensure that your deductions and credits were being maximized? The process in getting documents to and from them?

If any of those answers are a concern to you, then give me a chance. You will get all of those things from me, including a courtesy review of your prior return(s). My pricing is very fair and competitive.

If you have been thinking about making a switch, but always say "now is not the right time", maybe now is the time to consider making that change. Shoot me a message and I would love to speak with you about how I can help and what services I can offer. Email me at [email protected]

As we near the Tax deadline, which the IRS Extended until May 17 (and hopefully all states will follow), I wanted to reach out again to my linkedin/social media community to offer my assistance to anyone looking for a new accountant, both for your personal or business needs.
Obviously, given the environment we live in today, I would love to work with you regardless of where you live. I am familiar with most if not all state rules and would love to help you out. I pride myself in being available at all times, providing top notch service and answering any and all questions.
If you or someone you know is looking for an accountant, or looking to make a switch from someone not giving you the attention you need, please send me a note so that we can set up a call or meeting to discuss next steps.

Why people should think twice about preparing their own tax return...... Error(s) resulting in $7,000 of overpaid taxes.

I wanted to share a true story from this past week. An old colleague connected with me and wanted to hear more about my tax practice, but we also discussed his personal tax situation. Following our conversation, he provided me with his 2019 tax return so that I could give him an idea of the cost to prepare his returns in the future, as well as provide a courtesy review of his recent filing. He had been preparing his own tax return for years. He is also a CPA, but was not a Tax person.

After reviewing his return from 2019, I immediately uncovered a couple issues. When using turbo tax to prepare your return, it usually guides you through questions to help you prepare a return. Answer something slightly differently then intended, can lead to "mistakes". At the end of the day, what he thought was a simple return to prepare on his own led to some costly mistakes. For example, certain income was reported on an incorrect form, resulting in a deduction he was not entitled to and ultimately underpaid his Federal Taxes by $2,000. However, there were two major omissions made on his state tax returns that will result in refunds from the state of approximately $9,000.

My old colleague will now receive about $7,000 of overpaid taxes back. That was not all - in looking at his 2018 return, I uncovered one minor mistake that resulted in $700 in extra taxes paid.

My old colleague is now a client of mine and he is shocked that, as a CPA, he made those mistakes and almost cost himself thousands of dollars. In his case, the money he will recoup will pay for my services for years to come. The same story can be told many times and I personally have had a similar conversation with numerous other "new" clients this past year.

Most people all pay a mechanic to fix a car, a painter to paint, a lawyer to do legal work, a dentist to dental work, but when it comes to taxes, many people feel they can do it themselves, mostly to save a couple hundred dollars.

I offer very competitive pricing and top notch service regardless of which state you reside in. If you would like to connect with me about how I can help you out and maybe provide a cursory review of your prior year return, I would love to help out. Please send email me at [email protected]

This is a crazy time for our country, and its time that the american people continue to stand up and play a huge role in curtailing this virus, flattening the curve as they say so that our Health Industry can maintain control and catch up to this awful situation. Everyone needs to hunker down, stay safe, and stay away from everyone. We must stop spreading this virus at all costs.

At some point hopefully soon, the government will hopefully announce an extension of the upcoming April 15 Tax Deadline. If anyone needs help with their taxes for this year, please reach out to me and I would be happy to see how I can help. We can do everything virtually and electronic!!! Send me an email at [email protected]

Looking for someone who can help build me a fairly simple webpage for my tax and accounting practice. Not looking for anything significant, just some basic information. I use Google suite for my business, so I assume we can just build it through there. Please message me if you can help!
