A reminder as we are hearing of more tax scams:

The IRS will never contact you by email, text, social media, etc. The only time they will contact you by phone is if they have already been in contact with you via mail for a tax issue (and even then, it’s rare for them to call).

UPDATE: phones are back on!

Quick fyi: there is an outage in our area with our phone lines. We just spoke with our phone company, they said a major cable has been cut and the techs are working hard to fix it. Best case scenario we’ll have phones back today, otherwise it could be up to a week.
