The long game matters… in soccer and in your finances. A good plan helps you stay disciplined, make adjustments when needed, and keep moving toward the goals that matter most.

Ronaldo or Messi?

Most focus on the star players, but the world cup reminds us that what often matters most is the environment that surrounds the star player.

Markets work the same way.

One of the most overlooked forces shaping stock performance is the direction of the U.S. dollar. A strong Dollar is a tailwind for US stocks, while a weak Dollar gives favor to the away team.

Just like World Cup teams adjust their strategy to the conditions, investors should understand how the playing field changes across different dollar regimes.

Here's what stock performance has looked like during strong vs. weak dollar environments:

Retirement planning is about more than just saving enough. It’s about understanding the expenses that can impact your financial picture along the way.

Many retirees plan carefully, but some costs can still come as a surprise:
🏥 Healthcare expenses that Medicare may not fully cover
👨‍👩‍👧 Helping adult children or family members financially
💸 Taxes on retirement income and withdrawals

A strong retirement plan considers the “what ifs” so you can make confident decisions and enjoy the retirement you’ve worked hard for. If you’d like to review your retirement plan or talk through how these areas may impact your future, we’d be happy to help.

The last time the Knicks won a championship was 1973...

Tickets to the finals were $10
A gallon of gas: $0.39
A loaf of bread: $0.28

Tickets to this years finals should have been ~ $80 if we adjust for inflation, but were THOUSANDS. Knicks fans lost to inflation on this one. Unfortunately, everyone eventually loses to inflation if they do not prepare properly.

Owning equities is THE true hedge against inflation. Stocks are the only asset class that consistently outperform inflation over time. Most people think they are playing it safe by buying bonds, but forget about the hidden "purchasing power risk". You can see the fluctuations of your stock portfolio, but you can't see your purchasing power decline over time. You will feel it though.

If you want to maintain or improve your lifestyle in retirement then stocks have to play some role in your plan. Otherwise, you will lose to inflation.

Turning 59 isn’t just another birthday. It can be one of the last opportunities to meaningfully boost retirement savings before the focus shifts from accumulating money to using it wisely.

• Know where you stand: Benchmarks can help, but your real target depends on spending, health care, Social Security, and lifestyle goals.

• Use catch-up options: Higher contribution limits can help late-career savers make the most of peak earning years, especially before retirement begins.

• Plan for withdrawals: Staying invested, building a cash buffer, and timing Social Security can all affect how long savings last.

Retirement is about more than having enough money, it’s about creating a life you’re excited to wake up to each day.

While financial planning is an important part of the process, a fulfilling retirement often requires planning for your time, relationships, purpose, and well-being, too.

As you approach retirement, consider:

✔️ Talking with people who have already made the transition
✔️ Thinking about how you'll spend your days and stay engaged
✔️ Finding new ways to cultivate purpose, connection, and fulfillment
✔️ Creating routines that support your mental and emotional well-being

The most successful retirements are built with intention… not just financially, but personally as well.

Most people worry about running out of money in retirement. That's a valid concern, but it's not the only one.

I've worked with many retirees who are financially secure but hesitate to spend because they're worried about the "what ifs." Sometimes the bigger challenge is finding the confidence to enjoy the money you've spent decades saving.

A retirement income plan isn't just about preserving assets; it's about creating a roadmap that helps you live the life you've envisioned!

June is a smart time to check in on the money habits you’ve built so far this year. Poor financial habits can quietly derail savings, increase debt, and limit future options, but small changes can help you get back on track before year-end.

• Build a budget: Track income and expenses for at least 30 days to see where your money actually goes.
• Automate savings: Set up payday transfers so you are saving before the money can be spent.
• Face debt directly: Review balances, terms, and interest rates so you can prioritize repayment strategically.

Bulls win in game 5...

with a final score of 4-1! Most would consider this a blowout victory in sports, but when it comes to the market they think the game is close.

The average Bull Market lasts 4.4 years vs the 11.1 months of the average Bear Market and the performance during these periods is not even close.

151% vs -32%

The better team (Bulls) occasionally lose, but that's why we play more than one game. In the championship that is long term investing The Bulls remain undefeated.
