The House just passed a major tax and spending bill backed by Donald Trump. Here’s what it does:

1. Tax Cuts Extended:

The lower tax rates from Trump’s 2017 tax cuts (like the 37% top rate instead of 39.6%) are now permanent.
Middle-income families get some relief, though high earners benefit the most.

2. New Deductions:

Tips and overtime pay won’t be taxed.
Seniors making under $75K get a new $4,000 tax break.
Child tax credit increased.
The cap on state/local tax deductions goes up from $10K to $40K.

3. New “Trump Accounts”

Babies born after 2024 get a $1,000 tax-deferred savings account.

4. Changes to Government Programs
