No one does!

Here are 3 ways to pay less taxes as a business owner:

💲Hire a family member.

You don’t have to pay federal unemployment, social security or Medicare taxes.

💲Take advantage of qualifying business deductions.

Alot of money gets left on the table because you don’t know what deductions you can write off.

💲Vehicle expenses.

Especially if you’re in the service industry or you deliver, you can write off using the standard mileage rate or take the actual expenses for using your car!

You don’t have to wait till to start doing any of the 3 things listed.

Most small businesses don’t survive past two years.

It’s such a sad truth, but you don’t have to be part of that statistic.

In fact, you won’t be part of those failures because you’ll have the key ingredients for success.

I’m not talking about hard work and knowledge of your product/service (these are important, too).

This is one of the main reasons why you got into business- to make money (and make a difference in the world too)!

Lack of access to capital is probably one of the main reasons why small businesses fail, many before they even get truly started.

I had a client show his appreciation for our customer service by paying us an extra $50!

This is on top of what he paid us for the another service we'd done for him.

$50 may not be much (especially in today’s economy).

But this really meant a lot to me.

I'm sure you can think of a time when the customer service was TERRIBLE.

We make it a point to provide customer service that we all want and definitely deserve.

Customer service is key.

Why?

People remember how you make them feel, and when they feel exceptional, they then are repeat customers.

From our family to yours, Happy Eid Al-Adha!

This is one of two official holidays Muslims celebrate (and yes, I'm Muslim 😊).

This holiday honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God's command.

We may celebrate attending Eid Prayer at our mosque (similar to a church - our place of worship), spending time with our loved ones, and with kiddos getting gifts.

Believe it or not, I'm not much of a chocolate fan.

I have my moments when I have a taste for some, and when I do my go-to is usually milk chocolate.

I do prefer white, but there's not as many choices like there is for milk.

Do your market research!

Now, for those who are not quite sure what that means, I’ll make it simple -

- you have to have knowledge of everything related to your product or service and not just how to make or provide that product or service.

Still not clear? Let’s take a look at an example:

Barry Brown bakes blueberry biscuits and he’s pretty good at it.

He plans to sell them for $15 per dozen.

He did no market research and after two months of being in business, Barry sells only seven dozen, mainly to family and friends.

Barry had no idea of what the going rate for biscuits was.

He didn’t know where to find his clients or who those clients were.

He didn’t know if people were even interested in his biscuits and he didn’t know how to attract his potential customers.

He didn’t factor in how much it would cost to make a dozen nor where to get the best ingredients for the best price.

All of this and more is market research.
