The Education Department sent out mass student loan discharge notices to thousands of borrowers this week, notifying them that their federal student loans are eligible to be cancelled.

There is STILL tax on social security. I just heard the WH Press secretary make yet another announcement that is FALSE. Make sure you are taking the senior credit if you're 65+ and figuring off any supplemental insurance premiums in addition to your Medicare.

Qualified Overtime is NOT your overtime pay for the year. Consult a professional if your employer didn't calculate it for you 😉

This delay is a mandatory legal requirement under the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, which prevents the IRS from issuing these specific refunds before mid-February to allow extra time for fraud prevention and income verification.
The following are pertinent details regarding this timeline:

The earliest the IRS can release these refunds is February 15, but processing effectively begins after Presidents' Day (February 16, 2026).

The target date of March 2, 2026, is for most early filers who choose direct deposit and have no issues with their returns.
The PATH Act requires the IRS to hold the entire refund, not just the portion related to the EITC or ACTC.

The IRS has been more pursuant than ever about 1099 filings. Only individuals and partnerships are subject to 1099 requirements as a RECIPIENT; be sure your rent and services paid out are filed on a 1099 by the end of January 😉

PSA: If you receive a W2 or 1099 and work hourly and/or earn tip income: YOUR LAST 2025 PAYSTUB has the tax credit details. Provide this to your preparer or if self preparing, ensure you look to see what credits may be available as employers had no requirement in 2026 to report on your forms. I am already seeing many without the calculation. Thank me later 😉 And please SHARE!! This is one of the only credits that is actually going to help the majority of tax filers this season.

IR-2025-94, Sept. 23, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service, working with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, today announced that paper tax refund checks for individual taxpayers will be phased out beginning on Sept. 30, 2025, as required by Executive Order 14247, to the extent permitted by law.

This is such a wonderful cause ❤️

One of the major perks of running your own business is you get to decide when to do special things for your community. I'm painfully aware of the struggle many families - many of my very own friends - are facing right now with the government shutdown and freeze on benefits. The heart of this business is to capture motherhood. And no mom should have their motherhood journey clouded with the fear of being able to feed their kids or not. That's why I want to help.

This week I'm hosting a food drive giveaway. Message me to set up a drop off time, or to send $ directly for this cause. On Friday, I'll be making a trip to Aldi to purchase nonperishable items with whatever money is donated and adding in whatever physical donations are dropped off. Then I'll be bringing them to my daughter' school where local kiddos will be directly helped with these food items.
