🚨 Tax Deadline Reminder! 🚨

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) wants taxpayers to remember:
👉 An extension to file is NOT an extension to pay.

Yes, you can file an extension and submit your return later (usually by October 15)…
BUT â›” any taxes owed are still due by April 15.

If you don’t pay on time, the IRS may charge:
• Interest (compounds daily)
• Failure-to-pay penalties

💡 Pro Tip: Pay as much as you can by April 15—even a partial payment helps reduce penalties and interest.

📩 Need help figuring out what you owe or setting up a payment plan? Reach out—I’m here to help!

Important Update for Individual Tax Filers – Tax Year 2025

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 introduces federal tax law changes that may affect your 2025 tax return (filed in 2026).

Key areas that may impact individual taxpayers include:

Updates to tax brackets and the standard deduction

Changes to child, family, and dependent-related credits

Adjustments to certain income-based phaseouts

Modifications to retirement and savings incentives

New or revised reporting and documentation requirements

Because of these changes, tax return preparation may take longer than in prior years. We strongly encourage clients to schedule appointments as early as possible to allow adequate time for review, planning, and accurate filing.

Not all changes apply to every taxpayer. The impact will depend on your income, filing status, and personal situation.

Please contact our office if you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment. You can call or text 425-998-7366, or email [email protected]
to schedule your appointment.

Our understanding of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act "No Tax on Tips or Overtime".

Typically, tips and overtime pay are considered wages and are subject to payroll taxes, including F**A (Social Security and Medicare).

However, the new Mega-Bill provides a federal income tax break for eligible workers who meet certain income guidelines. Specifically, for tax years 2025 through 2028:

Workers can deduct up to $12,500 of their overtime pay from their federal taxable income (or $25,000 if filing jointly).

Workers can also deduct up to $25,000 of qualified tips from their federal taxable income.

Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $150,000 ($300,000 for joint filers). This is just one of many other rules and regulations associated with these deduction

It's important to note that this deduction applies only to federal income taxes. Tips and overtime are still subject to payroll taxes, including Social Security and Medicare.

I hope this information is helpful. Hopefully, by the end of the year, tax professionals will have a clearer understanding of the final details and implementation of these new tax laws.

On Feb. 18, a Texas district court lifted the last remaining nationwide block against enforcing the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), restoring beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements.

To allow businesses additional time to comply, FinCEN has extended the BOI filing deadline by 30 days for most companies. The new filing deadline is March 21, 2025, unless a later date applies to businesses in a federally declared disaster area. FinCEN is also considering further modifications to reporting requirements and deadlines, particularly for lower-risk small businesses.
