I hear “I need to think about it” a lot. And honestly? I get it 🤍
Hiring someone to handle your finances is a BIG decision.
But after years of these conversations, I’ve learned that “I need to think about it” usually doesn’t *actually* mean: “I need more time to compare spreadsheets and logically weigh my options.”
It usually means:
→ “This feels like a big investment.”
→ “I’m nervous about handing over this part of my business.”
→ “What if I SHOULD be able to do this myself?”
→ “I’ve waited this long… what’s a little longer?”
→ “I know I need help, but I don't want someone to see how messy things are.”
And if that’s you? You’re not alone 🫶🏻
Because bookkeeping isn’t just numbers.
For a lot of business owners, it comes with stress, avoidance, overwhelm, shame, or the pressure to somehow “have it all figured out.”
So what do I say next? ↓
Usually something like: "You don’t need to make a rushed decision. But I *do* want you to be honest with yourself about what waiting is actually costing you."
Because waiting doesn’t make bookkeeping easier ❌
It often means:
👎🏻 more transactions to clean up
👎🏻 more stress in the background
👎🏻 more second-guessing your numbers
👎🏻 more mental load you keep carrying alone
Sometimes “thinking about it” is genuinely the right next step.
And sometimes? It’s fear wearing a very practical outfit 👀
Only you know the difference.
And sometimes the most CEO move you can make is DECIDING you don’t have to keep carrying everything alone 💸✨
