Sharing from another local small business owner. She speaks the truth.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance.

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

Edited to add this personally.

We as business owners feel like our customers/clients are friends or even like family but unfortunately many people over the past few years have abandon small family businesses after years due our things out of our control or over prices when we have no choice but to increase them. We are all feeling the crunch of the economy. We aren’t greedy we are just trying to stay afloat and in business. I know personally the prices of things I pay for annually has more than doubled in most instances.

Want a sit down appointment? Call now, we have a very few appointments left for the year and we are booking into April now.

We gladly take drop offs. - bring in all your information, we work on them (and call for more information or questions) & give you a call when they are finished. We are estimating 3-4 weeks from when you drop off. Could be shorter or longer depending on when you drop off.

New? No problem we are happily taking new clients.

Every one has to fill out the Client worksheet & sign the engagement letter - we have other forms that may pertain to you that you will need to fill out as well. You can find them on our website under client forms or you can fill them out in the office.

Not tax related but a good reminder to parents.

A snow plow operator has POSTED THIS AND ASKED US TO SHARE HIS MESSAGE...Just got back from plowing snow and would ask all parents to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, TELL YOUR CHILDREN A SNOWPLOW IS BIG AND VERY VERY VERY DANGEROUS. I was About 35 feet from burying six children all 8 yrs and under today. I was very shaken and mad because parents don't tell their kids to stay away from the road when they see or hear a plow coming...tell them it is not fun to get in the flying snow...it is heavy and could have ice. frozen ground. or 7 to 8 tons of snow coming off the wing...If it wasn't for one child with a bright orange hat today i would be in an institution tonight. If there is snow on the road my job is to plow it....not to babysit your kids. Please educate your kids on the dangers of snow clearing equipment

Hello! I want to take a moment to thank you all for your patience. We are trying to have your taxes finished by the 20th- end of the month. We lost internet Friday and have it up now but we are at the mercy of Comcast. With losing the internet we are now behind 3 days. I promise we haven’t lost your return or forgot about you. Jeri is here 6-7 days week trying to complete everyone’s return. I am know this tax season has been hectic I am hoping and praying the rest of the year calms down for us and 2023 will be our year! Once again thank you again for your understanding and patience. Just to give you all an idea of what we are dealing with her we normally have 50-100 on extension this year we had over 400. We are down less then 200 at the moment. We are doing everyone in the order they were dropped off.

Hello! Caitlyn here again. I want to thank everyone for their patience this year, and I hate to ask for some extra patience. In the course of tax Season both my parents have Covid and pneumonia, my mom is much better still fighting the tiredness, my dad is still having complications. We have had two family death, and now a family emergency. If we have your stuff please be patient as Jeri is only one person who has been through it this year. If you are willing to go on extension please call us and let us know so we can move you from the 3 drawers that have to be done by next weeks. To safely say we are drowning. I have to have surgery two days after tax season ends so I am picking everyone’s slack and trying to get everything done I do before that point. I know we have had peoples taxes over a month and you have all been amazing! But if you are willing please give us a call and we will put you on extension and they will be done in May-June (given life doesn’t give us anymore compilations)
